Lots of people ask what the hell tank slapping is…
…this old-ass video shows it pretty well.
What force causes this? I dont recall ever being tankslapped racing karts or sliding my car…Is this
caused by the rear end suddenly grabbing swinging the front end the opposite way your trying to
go? Good to understand the physics behind this incase it happens and im aware of whats
happening.

BAD situation!
It could be a few things, in this case it looks like too much rear wheel grip and not enough throttle. ‘Tankslap’ more then likely has something to do with the fuel ‘slapping’ or sloshing around in the tank. Liquid carries quite the momentum once you get it goin, heh, I know first hand…
