THe Pirates Should Move

actually, greedy unions and cheap asian steel are mostly to blame.

i’m not talking about the inspiration behind the architecture, i’m talking about how it was sold to the taxpayers.

Can’t certian parts of the city have sound ordaninces…

bulldoze the Hill.

wouldn’t that be nice

why was it sold to the tax payers in the first place? because of the owners want for luxury suites!! the pirates had more initial need than the steelers. the steelers didn’t need a facility to sell tickets, unfortunatly the pirates did. if the rooney were concerned with things they would have built heinz with 70,000 seats but they weren’t, the added 3 floors of luxury. i bet the season ticket waiting list is still 15,000.

the Hill makes me :eek4dance

(that is the “running from the guys who want to steal my car” emote, right?)

its all the same through the city i think but certain places have more pull, SQ hill/mt washington.

<~~~~~~~ See Avatar.

Lory student teaches in the Hill, i dont know how she does it

with her mind on her money, and her money on her mind?

exactly why the pens do not need a new venue!!! But they want more room for luxury suites. Its funny how buildings can last for hundreds of years but sporting venues are done after 30.

there was no need for pitt to tear down pitt stadium but the steelers got them to join in to help push heinz through. If not for the greed of the university of oakland maybe forbes field would still be there. pitt has ruined oakland and pitt is to blame for many problems, more so than those stadiums. pitt gets away with so much when it comes to taxes.

on of her students brought a knife to class to stab a kid… but he brought one for who he wanted to stab too so it would be fair.

yes Pitt is large, but Pitt isnt the only University in Oakland.

yeah I knew it was somthing like that…

the hill ain’t that bad. There is hardly anything left on the oakland side of center ave. they tore down all the projects on bouroghs ave and all of robinson court. i was afraid of it till i had a friend there. Crime will find you no matter where you are.

that’s honourable, i guess…

maybe its all the girly fags in mt wash and sq. hill

pitt has spread into southside and beyond, CMU and carlow haven’t spilled out of thier area. UPMC and Pitt is a two headed monster bound to take over the world.

Pitt, CMU, Carlow just to name a few.

Wonder who brings in more revenue to the city, the Pirates or Pitt… Who has more employees that pay more taxes? How many busnisses in Oakland survive because of Pitt and CMU and pay taxes? Perhaps if the city did not chase away all the FOR PROFITS the city would not have the need to go after NON PROFITS. With out the various universities in/around Oakland it would just be a burb of the Hill. Let’s go after the captive people in the city - Pitt and CMU can’t just pick up and move like the companies that are all long gone.

The Hill was supposed to be revitalized by the Civic Arena, guess that did not work out like planned…

It comes down to jobs - if people don’t have jobs then they leave. I don’t know anyone who chooses where they live based on a sports team, yet when this debate was originally brought up supporters talked about “quality of life.” What ever. Yeah, downtown needs shopping and stadiums instead of real jobs. The Steelers threatened to move to Washington County and build their own stadium, we should have let them do it.

The Steelers used to play at Pitt Stadium. All that being said, Pitt is evil at times.
