The real way to do "sleepy eye mod"

SWEET! I’ll be doing that this weekend
I knew if I waited long enough a better one would come.

First of all, from the 10m of copper wire you have, cut it into 4 pieces of wires each consisting of 20cm. Label these 4 wires as A,B,C,D accordingly. With the remaining wire, cut it into 4 equal length, each consisting approximately 1.5m long. Label these 4 wires as E,F,G,H accordingly. Now attach the appropriate terminals on each wires according to the wiring diagram. Popup the bonnet and locate the fuse box, note on the fuse box one of the fuse is labeled “H/L RET CONT” This is the fuse controlling the popping of the headlamp. Open up the fuse box and unplug the fuse as shown on the above pictures. Now hook up the A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H wires accordingly to the wiring diagram to the fuse (relay) and the base of fuse (base of relay) Now all the wirings are done lets have a go at operating it. With BOTH of the switches turned OFF, the headlamp operates in the normal (factory) manner. Now turn ON both of the switches and turn on the head light at the same time. You will find the headlamp is turned on but the popup light is not popping up. This is because you by-pass the original circuit. Now to adjust the angle of the pop-up, simply turn one of the switch on and off leaving the other switch turned ON all the time. You will then discover that once you turn one of the switch on and off you are adjusting the angle of the pop-up. Tiny angle increments can be adjusted by turning the switch on and off at a faster rate. Once the desired angle is set, you can keep the headlamp on or switch it off. The pop-up will not reset itself until you turn both switches to the OFF position. At the end, tiding up all the wires and lead the switch to inside the cabin. Find a suitable place to mount the 2 switches. Have fun! Please keep in mind that half raising the headlamp during the night time is not recommended, this modification is for “show only” intentions. Please fully raise the headlamp when driving in night.

Here are the pix to help you out.

I think if you try this mod you will find the wiring diagram is wrong as well as some of there instructions. If you are following thier diagram hook the wires up like this A from the base to B on the relay and B from the base to A on the relayas well as E on the base to H on the relay and F on the base to G on the relay, C and D are the same. Also if the switches are iff then the lights will not work as normal(factory) it is if both switches are on and the circuit is closed then it will work like stock. Just thoght I would mention that before someone spends hours trying to get it to work.

that seems like a lot of work. are you not doing the exact same way by connecting a toggle switch to the back of the popup light switch? that is what i did and it works the exact same way as what you are explaning.

no it is not the same. That is how I had it as well, but this way you can have your head lights on with out them reseting and you can just flip a switch and they are back to normal as if you had not modified it at all. It is actualy a very simple mod the hardest thing is mounting a swith or two. If I had realised that the drawing was wrong in the begining it would have only taken me 10 min. ,but I already had switches mounted.

i see i see, well that does make a little more sence
hmmm maby worth trying

none of the links work?
