You guys are funny. A democratic win in Alabama is a big deal. Tiny margin or not, it doesn’t speak to Jones being a poor candidate, it speaks to the voter base being completely polarized. Trump endorsed two losers in the same race. Talk about that power. :jerkit:
Remember when everyone, including democrats, criticized the DNC for backing Clinton when people simply weren’t motivated by her? This is sort of like that, but in a disgusting, child molesting way.
Whoa, I’m not doing any of that lol. Doug Jones mostly won because Roy Moore is a piece of shit so republicans didn’t come out to vote as much. The smaller, yet still significant reason was that democratic turnout was much better. (Especially the black vote)
HA … maybe if the next guy is slightly less creepy then AL can go back red.
but seriously, this should never have even been close, or a question. There will be plenty of states where the bar is pretty high already, so we’re going to need strong candidates that are well-vetted in those races.

LEAKED: Next republican that will Challenge Jones’ Senate seat in 2020
do you guys really think the whole muller thing is 100% rigged from the start? People are getting caught and pleading to stuff, right? It takes facts to do this.
Back to the Trump ‘winning’ stuff that @JayS listed.
cracks fingers
Tax Bill
This is not a win yet, and considering what just happened in Alabama it’s less of a sure thing if they don’t vote on it before the end of this session (Next week). Not to mention that the potential effects of this bill are very controversial. Make no mistake, this is a donor relief bill for the GOP.
Illegal Immigration
Despite his loudmouth tactics, this actually is a win. I see this as multi-faceted; Internally, US Border Patrol has sort of been let loose to crack down on illegal immigration and it’s certainly working. Externally, fewer people are trying to come here illegally due to the political climate and Trump’s own comments. He’s been a deterrent so it saves border patrol the trouble.
‘ISIS is falling apart’
Let’s ease up on the hyperbole.
The point is that Mattis put together the new rules of engagement for the armed forces when dealing with ISIS, Taliban, etc. He has been a bright spot in the administration. I’ve liked him from the start.
‘How about that economy?’ + Unemployment
Thanks, Obama. But seriously, the economy was growing during the Obama administration. The first 5 months of Trump’s presidency added 863,000 jobs. That same time frame last year added 955,000. (Source) The ‘Trump effect’ seen in the markets is speculative but I definitely think this administration’s attack on regulations that protect consumers is helping drive the markets up.
All in all, this isn’t a win or a loss for Trump yet. We don’t yet know what effect his tactics will have on the true health of the economy. He lucked out in having taking over during a time of relative prosperity instead of 2008 when Obama walked into a shit show. 3 million jobs were lost in his first 5 months.
The unemployment rate, despite already decreasing during Obama’s final year, did seem to accelerate this year. Whether or not that’s a direct effect of anything Trump did is debatable. The link you posted even speaks to this. As noted earlier, I do give their actions some credit on the positive effects in the past year. Long term results may tell a different story.
Travel Ban
I’m not sure what about this you think is a win. It has almost been a year, they fucked up their first two, and this one is still in the process of failing. If you read past the headline of the link you posted you might have noticed that.
So yeah, if causing a shit load of turmoil for many legal immigrants, furthering divide, repelling supporters, being openly prejudice against Muslims, and trying to put areligious test on immigration policy but ultimately failing is a win, then you can have that one. If they knew what they were doing and used the 3rd one from the start we wouldn’t be talking about it anymore. There would have been the typical media BS outcry but with no actual ground to stand on.
Jerusalem
No, this is not a win yet. I will say that I support the decision but making a spectacle of it was idiotic.
Gorsuch
Yup, that’s a win for Trump via McConnell. You even admitted that it was a stolen seat. Obama had every right to appoint someone.
I don’t hate Gorsuch but we didn’t need another Justice forcing religious values on the nation.
Lower Courts
I don’t mind conservative judges. What I don’t like are judges who make a habit of forcing their religious values on people. That is a slippery slope and we don’t really know the effects.
Paris Climate Accord
We’re now the only nation not committed to this. This ‘deal’ was a voluntary effort to collectively make our environment cleaner, more predictable, and safer. Instead, the president thinks climate change is a hoax made up by the Chinese and that Obama was born in Kenya.
This is not a win in the slightest. It’s egotistical bullshit.
Keystone Pipeline
You mean Keystone XL? I’m not sure this one is worth getting into too much detail. I had serious problems with how they were handling the protests but didn’t necessarily oppose a new pipeline being built. Newer, better technology being implemented to move oil that needed to moved anyhow? It’s the safest/cleanest option. Please, please, please don’t cause an environmental catastrophe in the meantime.
Regulations
Again, long term effects to be seen. Companies are obviously going to like it but how about the neighborhood whose water is being contaminated due to the lifting of clean water act regulations? Or the safety regulations put in place to protect workers? Each one of the 866 regulations that they are trying to fuck with will have its own positive/negative effect.
Government Jobs down 11k
Hey, looks like those 11,000 people will have somewhere to work anyway considering how many jobs were created during the Obama presidency.
So let’s look at the score card:
1 - 1 TBD
2 - 1 Win
3 - 1 Win
4 - TBD Let’s see the trend over a few years. He doesn’t get to claim wins from other people.
5 - 2 losses, 1 TBD- Net 2 losses
6 - 1 TBD
7 - 1 Win – Thanks Mitch
8 - 1 TBD
9 - 1 Loss -Considering what the rest of the world thinks of us for this crap.
10 - I don’t know here. Did this really help the average American?
11 - N/A
12 - Win -Government be bloated, yo. This might need to be switched if it was rolled out too quickly and causes shit on the other side.
Wins: 4
Oh by the way, here are some other notable accomplishments by Trump + the GOP:
-Through August was on vacation or had a day of leisure 53 times. Despite constant criticism of Obama for “playing too much golf.” Obama had 15 days through the same duration. (I’m only using Obama for comparison because of Trump’s comments)
Failed to pass health care legislation more than once. And is now trying to sneak elimination of the individual mandate into the tax bill.
-Live tweets ‘Fox and Friends’ but doesn’t take intelligence briefings seriously.
Constantly attacks people via Twitter but has no backbone face to face. This goes for Democrats and Republicans.
69%of his statements analyzed by Politifact were mostly false/false/pants on fire while only 4% were true. (Source)
Endorsed a pedophile that was twice removed from Alabama Supreme court for Senate.
All the while swimming in daily drama, poor optics, and doing things he criticized Obama for in a bigger way. Not to mention the world’s view of the US.
Let’s give an overall score of ‘needs improvement.’ I truly think the only thing trickling down these days it’s Trump’s over confidence and constant attempts to overstate anything that the GOP does. Give the issues a real view for god’s sake. Don’t listen to everything a proven liar tells you.
Anywho, this was fun to summarize and read up on a bunch of those topics again. Feel free to point out errors.

I should also add that I didn’t really do this for people to rebut. It was a good exercise for me to see why people are touting Trump, even if I don’t agree with all of it. I would only suggest that you be more critical of his claims and form your own opinion of facts. (No, not the alternative ones.) And stop assuming you know more than someone on the internet because YOUR fake news outlet told you that THEIR fake news outlet was wrong.
@theblue
The people in charge of the investigation were literally plotting against him. And there’s evidence of it now. Its been how long and they still havent found any actual proof of this so called collusion?
4 people plead. For 3 of the plea deals (Manafort, gates, and papadopoulos), even CNN admits the pleas aren’t related to issues with the trump campaign. Flynn only got in trouble because he lied about something he didnt even have to lie about.
