Understand, but not at first. At first it was a chop to the neck, and Herschel started crawling to the back of the truck. Then Brian got all insane and chopped his head off with 4-5 whams.
There was one thing about this episode that surprised me. Someone ran out of ammo.

Rick has graduated to super badass. Or some level of badass I can’t even quantify.
nice to see the character get there from where was midway through last season.
thye have cleared the show for a 6th season but these days nothing is going more than 6 so i wonder if they’ll start wrapping it up.
the story line with getting that dude to washington seems like a dead end at this point unless they open it up a bit.
there was also a special feature that wasnt shown last night where that black guy who was with his son in the first episode of the series and then again in like seaosn 3 without his son is out and about and caught the terminus signs and then walked into the forest… so he’ll be back in some capacity.
Yea i always watch The Talking Dead. Its a great way to see some extras and kinda see where the season is going.
I went straight from Season 3, to this episode. So I’m a little behind but was caught up by my brother-in-law. Definitely a good opening, wasn’t a fan of Glen not dying. Of course the characters are saved at the last second again.
My wife loves this show…we now watch it together…

he’s the only asian character on a long running hit television show that gets to be with a decent white girl. it’s important for the show that he hang around until at least right near the end. same reasons there are now 4 main black characters and they’re only killing off whiteys for the good guys and the bad guys… gotta keep those urban and southern US ratings up…
this episode set a TV ratings record wiht 17.3 million viewers… beat out sunday night football… that’s not on Rick’s back… it’s on Glen, Michionne, Sasha, bob and Tyreese
I think Daryl is the rating puller, not to say the others don’t contribute.
Here’s things I want from TWD:
- Less predictable “close calls” where a main character constantly comes face to face with death but is spared by some miraculous turn of events. I’m not saying kill off all the main characters, but come on.
- More zombie action
- I heard Carl was much less of a cunt in season 4, but I still want him to die BADLY. Like a meethook through each eye and then his skull ripped in half. I’m not asking for much.
- Not a huge fan of Carol either
- Can’t become a drama, where characters are crying every two minutes.
- The lead up to the Governor attacking the prison went on for like 5 episodes. HATED that.
You’re watching the wrong show. It’s way more about people than dumb zombie action and most of the things you’ve listed as “problems” are exactly why this show is doing so well. The core group don’t really have problems dealing with zombies anymore so if all they did was kill walkers week in and week out the show would suck. The real conflict is with people and that’s what makes it such a great show.
The reason the close calls for main characters work in this show but seem stupid in so many others is because how how many main characters they’ve already killed off. As a viewer you honestly didn’t know if Glen was going to die with the butchers last episode.
