The Walking Dead

[sarcasm]yeah, game of thrones would never do a big fake out death and leave you hanging. Right Jon Snow?[/sarcasm]

I agree with the first part of this 100%. How could they ever had just happen to run off the path into a giant death trap. 20ft earlier or later and they miss it completely. If they would have run off the path in the opposite direction what would have happened?
As far as who they kill off, I didn’t like them showing that Norman Reedus has a new show coming out as a commercial right in the middle of the finale. It really makes me think he’s gone. It was distracting.

With TWD though you could easily be on another show, especially Daryl. They only do a 13 episode season and they way they tell the story a lot of the characters don’t even get screen time in half of them. I wouldn’t read too much into Norman Reedus getting his own show since there are so many episodes where we barely see Daryl.

Well pretty much called that one. Im surprised that people thought it was going to go any different

I would take that comparison with a grain of salt. Game of Thrones is a great show, but as slow as The Walking Dead can be, GOT killing off characters all of the time gets equally annoying. I’m pretty sure TWD is the biggest show on television, so they must be doing something right. GOT is likely right up there as well.

That being said, a giant middle finger goes out to the season finale.

Did anyone else notice this? I think “trevor’s” character had far more presence than Negan’s throughout the episode in terms of intimidation

^ I kept waiting for him to go full Trevor.

I started watching this show with my wife a couple years ago. I agree that this finale was a bit lame…

If Steven Ogg had played Negan, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan had played Ogg’s character, I’d be a hell of a lot more interested in next season

You could have watched the last scene and the one where Carol and Morgan meet those new guys (whoever they are) and not have missed a thing.

It’s annoying they hyped up the Negan thing all season to only show him for 5 minutes at the end and leave it with a stupid cliffhanger. The show would have ended on a much more shocking note if they panned out of the first person view and showed whoever it was laying there all bloody and dead.

And interesting article but like it mentions it might just be more trolling by the writers: http://io9.gizmodo.com/we-may-already-know-who-died-in-that-annoying-walking-d-1769096667

I don’t know man, after watching that last 5 minutes I don’t think anyone can argue with the casting pick of Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He was perfect as Negan. It just sucks we only saw 5 minutes of him and didn’t get any answers.

The difference is they showed John get “killed”. They didn’t line the nights watch up and then cut away from it and only give you sound effects.

yeah cheers to you. i thought of your post right away.

i only watched it last night which is why i stayed out of this thread.

I feel the same as @Beck but slightly more optimistic. its a bit of a paradigm shift now with the Saviors being so huge. i do wonder what will happen next season even though this finale was a let down.

I think Rick had ample opportunity to use that axe. Obviously wasn’t go to work well for the rest of the season, but I kept thinking about it. And 2 people getting killed was a curve ball I didn’t see coming.

I was pretty disappointed after Lucile got her first taste. I was like, “Come on, that’s not even a major character!”. Cleaned that up by the end though. I looked over at my wife and laughed, “well, he’s not escaping under some miracle dumpster this time”.

Negan is exactly what this show needed. Rick’s and co are completely out of their league now. Looking forward to seeing how this new dynamic plays out this season.

The scene with Carl (I’m sorry, Coral) and the ax was probably the most intense the show has ever done.

That eyeball…

I’m disappointed that I haven’t found a “what did glen know about hillary” meme yet.

I am actually more bummed out about Abraham than I am Glenn.

He had a lot of good one liners, but they’ve been setting him up to die for the last 3-4 episodes so it wasn’t a big shock. His whole breaking it off with the girl and mentoring Eugene to take care of himself. Looking back the writing was definitely on the wall the Abraham was checking out soon.

I agree. In the books, he was killed by Dwight shooting a crossbow bolt through the eye. (The same death Denise had last season)

Kirkman has stated that he sometimes wished that he didn’t kill off Abe before the ‘All Out War’ story arc. I think it would have been bad ass to see Rick/Abe vs Negan.
