Some quick-draw shit right there. Dropped those two like a bad habit.
I love how 95% of each episode is chit-chat and only in the last two minutes does a walker appear or there’s a major plot development. I get cliffhangers, but fer fuck’s sake give us some full-fat episodes every once and again.
You will get bored eventually if every episode is just zombie killin.
Anyway, does anyone know what the scientist said into Ricks ear as the CDC was about to blow up?
And I wonder is the black father and son are going to show up from the first episode. There was a lot of plot development with the walkie talkie at sundown n shit.
I think one of the keys in the first season was that the walkers were a near constant external pressure on the group. The way they’ve been isolated from them in the first half of the season, it’s definitely moved on to the internal pressure within the group, but they’re getting a little too far off the source of their problems this season.
If you’ve been paying attention to this thread, you would know that the comics aren’t the same as the show. They’ve been following somewhat but are not the same at all.
I agree with him though. If you want to discuss stuff from the comic wait until after the episode that deals with that content has aired.
And I agree that the safety of the farm has been a bit too much, but people need to realize this show is as popular as it is because it isn’t just mindless zombie killing violence. If that’s what you’re looking for go play Left 4 Dead. I really enjoy watching how the different characters are dealing with trying to keep some bit of hope with the general loss of humanity. I laugh at the people who say Shane should die because he killed Otis, as if it was that simple. Shane made a promise that he would save Carl and when put in a situation where it was break that promise or do something horrible, he made a tough call. And you can see how it just ate at him afterwords and resulted in the angry character we see today. To me it’s real character building like that which as made this show a must watch, not random gore.
I think, at least for those that have read the comic, it’s frustrating because they managed to accomplish all of this amazing character development along with the gore/suspense.
They started with some really incredible source material. It’s not that I would expect it to go unchanged, but they’ve changed it so much that it’s not nearly as good as it could have been.
This season(so far) isn’t really in keeping with the source material and the intensity of the first season. IMO, they’ve gone away from what I really saw as more of a suspense/drama, to more of a full on drama.
