I
one way to find out:dunno:
i say go for it
anything is possible.
yeah but if its going to be a super pain in the ass and not be able to happen then F it… if its possible then ill try
you act like your a chain smoker and 10 pounds over weight and on a oxygen machine
13 miles? Just eat healthy and keep up w/ cardiovascular activities on a daily basis. If your looking to be competitive then you will have to train/eat harder. Make sure you condition your feet properly for any 10+ Mile runs. Hypohydrate for like 2 days prior to the race.
13 miles = you’re fucked. unless you SERIOUSLY train. even then I bet you dont make it past 8. 13 miles is a long fucking way.
Hell, even if you aren’t ready for it when the time comes you’ll at least be better off than now, so what’s there to lose?
buy some good ass shoes and concentrate more on you breathing than anythng else. if you can controll you breathing instead of huffing and puffing, you will make it alot further
go for it. but some pointers…
-
cut out almost all ground beef in your diet, it takes to long to digest, stick to pastas and grilled chicken.
-
after you run everyday soak your feet in warm water, it helps them from cramping and keeps the blood flowing even after your run.
-
13 miles is a long run, esp. for a beginner/novice. with the little time you have to train the mileage you run has to be stepped up in large parts. so say if you are doing 2 miles a day now, you should start off with a 3.5-4 mile run for one week. then after that step it up to around 6, but at a slightly slower pace. also run what is known at fartly(sp) running. which is jog at a medium pace then pick out select intervals to do full out sprints then go back to the medium pace. you can do that type of run for 10-12 miles.
-
most people overlook this when training for a marathon and such events, but hitting the weights will help a lot as well. dont lift a lot of weight, just do min. weight with max reps to gain muscle tone and endurance. it will help with your running form and cut down on wasted energy and motion
if you need pointers or training tips just PM me and i’ll help ya out. i used to do this stuff all the time when i was in junior/high school and some of college.
Good luck
ahahahahahaha thats like running from the apartment to penn state back and forth like 3+ times. have fun on that one…
i could barely make it there let alone back and forth 3 whole times.
ill give you 10 bucs if you complete all 13 miles and can prove it by showing me a link of the positions everyone finished in.
while doing you training jog what ever amount you decide (3m 4m or what ever) then walk the rest of the milage to equal 13m. This gets your body used to the distance.
rent a car and cheat like a mofo, that’s really the only way.
good luck
phewwww, 13 miles? that’s some serious shit. It took me about a months time, running 5 times a week, to go from running 3 miles to running 4 miles easily.
remember, your competition is going to be running about a mile every 8 minutes…for the whole fuckin race.
