Have you driven one before? Some people are a little meh about them untill they take it for a rip. I wouldn’t DD it in the winter though.

Honestly, you’ll be kicking yourself when you realize that you could have been driving a really cool car instead of 2 “meh” cars.
I don’t mean any disrespect by that, either.
It’s how i’m kicking myself for going through 2 lotus, 2 STIs and a range rover. If I just sucked it up and planned a little bit I could be driving a Ferrari 360 or maybe even a 430. 
An SRT4 is WAY more fun than a Cobalt SS.

sell the cobalt, forget the srt4, buy something like an evo / sti and drive it all year round
no ive never driven one before. my buddy has one that he drives all year round. he said he doesnt have any problems.
no i dont drive in the city. i pretty much only drive back and forth to work which is highway the whole time.
my cobalt is being redone this winter with a bigger turbo kit and tons of cf work. im shooting to be in the 11s with the ss.
if i bought an evo or sti i wstill wouldnt drive it in the winter. i would put to much money in it to want to drive it in the winter.
why would you buy something so similar though? You have a FWD pocket rocket. It’s like buying an Evo and an STI, or an F150 and a Silverado. Try something RWD for a change of pace, or get an AWD car that will be good in the winter, or get an SUV or truck if you have one now for utility, but not an SRT4.
in 2-3 years you will strongly regret the decision to do this when you realize you could have been driving something way cooler

if you have a fun car already, just get something good in the snow and RELIABLE for the winter
I am not gonna down the road of convincing you that a highly modded cobalt ss is a waste, because the only BIGGER waste would be the argument that you’d put up.
subaru legacy gt. with a downpipe and greddy sp2 3" exhaust. and call it a day

never really thought about a legacy before. was really only thinking about the WRX. ill have to look into the legacys to.
daily the cobalt, enjoy it, but don’t throw any more money into it while you save and plan you future which still has a chance of owning a cool car.
You obviously don’t get it now, but someday you’ll realize newman was right. At which point you’ll have a cobalt SS that you’ve got $40k into sitting broken in your garage and worth $5k. meanwhile you’ll be driving some other car like an SRT4 and really hating life in general while being too poor to change your situation.
I’m like a poster child for bad automotive decisions.
