thinking about getting a skittle

not really. i want an e46 in the worst way. I currently have an 01 accord and its just fine as a dd, but i am not satisfied in the least.

pot meet kettle… you have a turbo fwd mazda

get a truck

And no you don’t want a GSX. Thats even worse lol.

On a side note I got a AWD Talon. Rips through the snow.

NO to SRTs. just saying. had one loved it but hated it more

srt with hankook winter ipikes rock in the snow. like boost and still have some traction. its no AWD subie, but not bad.

as for “cool cars”. dont listen to anyone on here. be satisfied with what you do already have and enjoy it.

if you do get a subie, they are great for winter. i love my forester. i do miss having a total piece of shit that i can massacre deer with though. i need something like a 1995 buick century or another k car for high speed dusk/dawn travel without any care. i really dont want to smash up my forester like i would a pile.

Brian

I would NEVER drive anything that’s nickname was "skittle. "

With that said, I’m going to agree with whoever said get a legacy gt. Those are nice.

I had an SRT4 and a 98 cobra. Two 13 second fucking cars. Then I realized I wanted something quiet and comfortable to drive everyday and something really fast for the weekends.

I really don’t think you would be happy with an SRT4 and a cobalt SS. SRT4’s are very fun and most people that knock them probably never drove one, but the novelty will wear off. At least you can’t lose as bad as the people who paid $20k plus tax.

i still have to look up why they’re called skittles…

Its pretty much been handled already, there are FAR nicer cars. I really have to agree with all that said LGT. Ive really kinda been liking them lately, as a year round daily you cant go wrong.

dsms are cool, not very fun to to dd i would say
i would get something that is NA , and AWD/4WD so that u wont want to mod it or blow it up

i wouldnt drive an TC/SS in the winter, traction wouldnt be fun at all

get a subie 2.5RS . 4dOORS, AWD, fun in the winter.

Yes, that skittle thing is new to me…

I wanted one for awhile, but like most of these guys are saying, i guess I am getting a biy older now and am realizing that:

  1. Priorities change and
  2. I could just get something nicer that I dont have to mess with, stress about getting stranded in, and is simply fun from the dealership.

You can get a used Evo really cheap now a days. Drive it in the winter, fuck it.

But, my favorite car I ever drove in the winter ODDLY was my Mk4 Gli. Those VWs are great in the snow, no lie.

Or they were livid they got smoked by a Neon that cost half or a third of their car.
But like I said before, fun cars, but not something I’d DD in the winter.

Because of their bubble like shape.

skittles are a circle bro, not an oval

Not if you look at em sideways brah, the S was added for effect. I didn’t want to waste more time perfecting the perspective. I’m sure it gets the point across. fgt.

you were never getting one anyways

^LOL, nice find.

You can find a $300 car that runs perfect and is comfortable. Sure it will be older and have some rust. You can spend $10k on a newer car that is just out of warranty and everything shits the bed on you. Now you have a payment and repair bills.

Cars are reliable regardless of age, or miles. Don’t tell him to do something “responsible” when it may cost him more money than an SRT4. Buy a used one with low miles for $10k, they will probably depreciate a little less than your average newer car. Leave it stock and it’s just as reliable. Don’t tell him to buy a newer accord or a malibu because it is more responsible and a better DD. That’s fucking stupid. Just as much of a waste of money, just like 99% of cars. And even the cars that are worth 20x what they were new, consider inflation and I’m sure it still wasn’t a great investment considering the 50 years your money was tied up.

Get the most for your money. Be it performance. Or be it fuel economy and reliability. I guarantee though, that a newer car for 20x the price of a beater isn’t a better value when compared against the money spent. So if you want performance, look at it the same way. After all is said and done, could you have just bought a better car than your finished product for the amount you ended up spending.
