This is so GAY having nothing but problems

ok i drove my car this morning and it was running fine but as the day passed and the sun got hot i got off work and drove home these were my problems:
1.over heating constantly but my electric fans are both working i figure its cuz of the heat but if thats the case WTF am i gonna do this summer if my car can’t handle 20*C
2.i push my gas pedal the engine revs up but theres no power to the wheels sounds like my tranny isnt catching or somthing to that effect not only does it suck ass but stock civics are making me look like a fool and its embarassing as hell zero power off the start until the turbo kicks in but seriously im talking like 20 seconds from 0-60
plz help!!!

The overheating could be a thermostat problem. Replace it and see how it goes.

Is your car automatic? If it’s manual it sounds like your clutch might be shot.

drove my car again tonight after letting it kool for awhile and but the clutch problem only happen when the engine heats up past normal running temp

You have a front mount intercooler? If so, there is your problem. Your rad is too small, and is not getting enough air. The intercooler is blocking all of the air that needs to get to the rad.

And sounds like your clutch is slipping. Happens when it heats up.

I agree with Matt and Aaron. S14s have better rads than S13s to begin with. I suggest try flushing the cooling system and putting in a new Nissan thermostat. Check with Bill at Ericksen for the thermostat.

number 1 happened to me but i was able to shut it off qucikly and pull over. Some nice necc members stopped for a bit.

yeah we filled it with water and i took my dads vehicle and headed out for more fun.

has been fine ever since.

i flushed my rad today and the heating problem is gone but not it runs like its missing again can ne one tell me what spark plug gap should be?

I haven’t had the heating problem but my car seems to be missing as well. You can even hear the spark and feel it in the plug wire on the 3rd cylinder. The other ones don’t do that. Anyone know whats up with that?? It can’t be normal. Does it mean the plug wire for that cylinder is toast??

its wierd cuz mine doesnt do it straight off when i start my car in the morning it runs fine but when i shut it off and start it about an hour later seems like its missing then ill turn it on when it gets kool at night and it runs great again and also i had a buddy following right behind me and he said he could see gas spurting out of the exaust when i take off from the light but that only happens when im running funny otherwise it runs fine.I was also told to check my vacuum lines and intercooler pipes for leaks cuz of some sensor that tells my engine im getting to much air so it ups the fuel but ive checked all my lines and they are fine.im gonna spent all day tomorrow under the hood so if ne one could tell me the gapping that would be kool and maybe some other suggestions at what to look at would be greatly appreciated
thx alot to the guys that have gave me advice already and thx in advance to ne who does

Yes, it’s toast. I had the same problem on my van last week. New wires are much easier to touch. No more sparky for me!

This thread may be of some use.

hey jared thx again for ure input im gonna test the coils today that thread is exactly whats happening with me

so i tested the coils today after my cars mysteriously started running shitty again in the warmer weather (i expected it would :? ) and i found out that the problem is on the sixth cylinder,i cleaned it up in there and there and my sparkplugs look brand new but there was some condensation in between the plug and the coil and since i dont have a volt meter i cant check the coil itself, but i put it back on and then the car ran good again,is it possible the condensation could have been the problem?or am i still looking for a new coil?

Condensation can definitely cause firing problems. Keep driving it and see if the problem comes back. If it cleared up when you got rid of the condensation I wouldn’t expect it to be a problem with the coil.

Condensation is a big problem, with CA and RB engines.
