This thread has nothing to do with LS1's, 2's, 6's, or 7's.

But 3’s!

:ohnoes:

It will debut in the 2008 Corvette, 430hp. It will also show up in the new Camaro Z/28 and Pontiac G8 GXP. It may also be wearing a blower under the hood of the next Cadillac CTS-V.

gay

does that thing have pushrods in it? i hear they make an engine suck

Aluminum block

Push rods

Nascar

I don’t get it, how does it work with only one cam? Does it use magic or something to open the valves? And why would you make a engine out of soda-can material that is just beyond lame.

Wonder what they did for changes to it.

I was always curious how we got from Ls1, to Ls2 to suddenly Ls6 and Ls7.

It seemed like the LT1 lasted a long time and then the LS1 was also a long lasting in production. Then all these new ones.
Is the LS3 a 6.0?

Possibly 6.0, but also rumoured to be a 6.2 liter.

LSx is a whole series of motors

I know its a series but for the longest time all we heard about was the LS1 and then the LS2 was in the newer Goats, the LS7 debut in the new Z06, but where did all the other ones go? I certainly never heard about them, or people doing swaps.

The LS6 was named after a famous old vette engine from the late 60’s/early 70’s, just like Z06 is named after an option on vettes in the 60’s.
When they built the next version, they just went up from there. There’s already been an LS4 for a couple years, the 5.3L FWD in the grand prix GXP and monte SS.
