Thoughts on a vw r32

Well, say whatever you want, but I’ll just give you a list of changes from the 03 to the newer cars:

Projector headlights
New tails
New front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts
Different motor, 20 more hp
Revised transmission, stronger synchros, holds 700+whp, much more precise shifting, the old gearboxes are very sloppy
Revised suspension, much stiffer on the sport pack
Forged Rays wheels on the sport pack
Revised dash layout
Much higher quality leather on the seats, wheel
Real aluminum dash, door accents, all buttons now light up at night
Revised and more modern gauge cluster
Seats have more adjustability
Resolution on nav screen now much higher (old one looks like an 8 bit original nintendo)

There’s also a lot of reliability fixes that were implemented, like the tire feathering problem which was later resolved, and the new compression rods.

It is a whole different car. I told you if you get the old one you will regret it. Sometimes, it is worth to spend a bit of extra money and get something nice. Ballin’ on a budget doesn’t work, not with these cars anyway.
I don’t think I know everything there is to know about these cars, but I do know a damn lot more than you do. Actually, any person that knows anything about cars in general, will know better than to get the first year of production of a car.

R32s are bad ass.

Best thing even though its awd you can still dyno it on a fwd dyno, since the rear wheels only kick in if the front loses traction.

BUT…I used to own a 98 gti vr6 most unreliable piece of shit ever. I sold it to my buddy a couple years ago and guess what its parked in his driveway right now cause something fucked up and hes waiting for appointment with his mechanic, and two weeks ago he just changed both motor mounts and tranny mount.

Stay away from VW. They have a saying that they put on thier euro plates “BROKE STATUS” cause at least 5 things are fucked at all times no matter how much money you put in it.

First of all friends don’t sell VW’s to friends… some friend you are lol!

I tottally agree, when I worked at Prestige we used to sell a lot of VW and Audi products there and there is where I lost all respect for VW and Audi… They are the biggest pieces of shits…

… In the world!

sorry I gave been watching too much top gear lately… I’m sure Jeremy Clarkson would agree that VW and Audi’s are shitboxes

I remember those cars always had problem after problem, you know you have problem when the Check engine light it self breaks and stops working LOL!

The extended warranty companies were losing so much money from warranting VW and Audi they put them on the shit list with Jaguar and Land Rover. So they made the extended warranty so expensive to force out of buying an extended warranty for a VW or Audi this way the warranty company doesn’t keep losing money LOL!

I used to talk soooo many customers out of buying a VW or Audi and I would switch them to a Nissan/Infiniti or Toyota/Lexus product and they would do their home work and call me back to thank me.

My parents switched from a 2001 Jetta TDI, <150000 kms for a 2009 Camry. The difference is insane and we have basically agreed within the family to never purchase a VW again

LOL we actually traded, being a student and already spending $20,000 on repairs in 4 years I had enough and traded him for a 1991 Integra with a B16 swap. I put 75,000kms on it until the body rotted away and put basically nothing into it. But the VW would have been LONG gone by then since it had 240 when I traded.

Its funny you say that cause it was ALWAYS on, I got worried when it turned off.

lol anton, you’ve been getting into e-beef with like everone on this forum…
but on topic yeah, vw’s (along with german cars in general) are usually known to be totally unreliable, but im not sure about the r32 specifically.
how many imports do you see with 300+ kms and still running on original tranny/clutch and uncracked block? tons. i own one.
how many vw’s? good luck getting them past 200. this isnt true in all cases, but the rumors are true about jpn cars being reliable and germans not, 9/10 of the time…

Most VW’s in North America are not German they are Mexican… if they were German the quality would be better… Not to put down Mexican people or anything… easy amigo’s don’t start bashing lol!

When it comes to getting high mileage out of a car in all honesty yes Jap cars (and I mean REAL Jap cars not north american manufactured Jap cars) are better then most European cars but GM puts them all to shame… I’m not sure about the new GM products but most 80’s and early 90’s GM were long lasting cars especially if they had the 3.8L V6 3800 serries motor. The 4.3L the 3.1L and the 2.8L V6’s weren’t bad either the 3.4 had some problems.

Haha, I can’t help myself sometimes. The desire to say “I told you so” is too great
