We won the towing contract for the new track in Monticello. On slow days, I get to shoot over there and watch. There were only these 2 cars out that day, but on opening day Mario Andretti and Brian Redman were there racing. Just a shame that this track, slated to be world class, is invitation only. No general public spectators and membership costs $100,000.
Sweet gig!
It isnt completely invitation only. It’s open to independent clubs to share with the members similar to Lime Rock. We’re headed there early next year. I hope no one needs your services! ;D
Oooooh. I had wondered that for a while. A techie there had told us it was invite only. I was kind of disappointed. I’d love to see SCCA out there, or a similar sanction.
From my understanding, it was intended to be that way, but membership signups have been lower than expected so they’re opening it to other clubs. We’ll see.
:wow lucky girl!
I would actually be hard pressed to pick between those two cars.
IF and only IF i could squeeze my big ass into the Lotus somewhat comfortably, I’d pick that for surree
Supercharged Lotus go kart. Sign me up :nod
that orange Lotus is tits!!! :bowdown
Did you guys miss the Ferrari completely? Hello? Convertible or not F430 > Lotus.
150K+ ferrari or 50K+ lotus… hmmmm, hard choice
Srsly.
and if there was some kinda shifter cart or somthing fun, i bet it would probably get more attention and then it would be like this as far as attention 5k>50k>150k
Everyone and their uncle has an f430 :nod
It is.
There is more to the car then just the name and numbers, Ariel Atom is cheaper then the Ferrari too, but wouldn’t think twice about that choice, even for the slower models.
not at all… I’d take the ferrari hands down over an atom. Speed isn’t everything. You could sell the 430 and get 3 atoms.
The Lotus wrecked yesterday. Went WOT into a turn and let off mid apex, sending the car spinning.
Pretty amazing how they tore the entire ass end apart, and crated it to ship out, for repair. All under an hour.
After driving Jay’s, I’d rather have the F430 all day.
You’ll see a lot of that at a membership track like Monticello. We’re already seeing it EVERY day at LRP.
That’s my point exactly, I would take the basic, slower entry level atom over an F430 as well.
For starters, I would hate not to have a gear lever.
how is that your point? I’m sure a “slow” atom would slaughter the 430 on the track… making it the faster of the two. “as well”? I said I’d take the 430, not the atom… as well what? :motherland :confused
I still would take the 430 as well. :giggedy
