Tint saves me a speeding ticket

Long story short I got pulled over for speeding and the cop “gave me a break” by only giving me a tint ticket. I haven’t had a speeding ticket in almost 17 years, the streak continues.
Thank you window tint.

Same with front plate tickets. Newman made a thread about this a few years ago if I remember correctly.

That’s why I don’t get a NYS inspection on my bike.

^+1

I have gotten front plate tickets too.

Exactly.

this is kinda stupid, last few times i got pulled over for speeding all i did was be polite and talk to the police officer. I had nothing wrong with my vehicles so they let me go free and clear. I dont buy into this whole no plate/tint saved me a ticket nonsense.

It’s more so if you are speeding and polite they are more prone to only give you a tint or plate ticket.

I agree, someone will have to ask the officer next time if that is true while getting the tickets

I got saved (speeding on the 90) by an “obstructed view” ticket for dice in the mirror. I’m pretty sure I had a bunch of fairly recent speeding tickets at the time too.

My mother in law is the of the** of nys, I haven’t had a ticket in 11 years  . Like the kid in willy wonka and the chocolate factory sings, "I’ve got the golden ticket.

2 weekends ago I was speeding and just got a no front plate ticket. I was only going 10 over, doubt I would have even got polled over if I had the plate on. That being said, I don’t buy into it ether. O well lol

Lift your skirt a little sissy boy.

my last three tickets within the last 12 months all got dismissed. you just gotta to be polite and play the sympathy game.

I run a front plate and do not have any tinted windows anymore. Guess I will have to just ask a trooper friend is there is any truth or if it’s really how you act & your prior record that really matters.

or offer him a deal on windows.

my last two tickets were tint tickets. both were instead of getting a speeding ticket.

This has been done by a rep in our office actually. Always Be Closing

A few years ago I got pulled over after passing 3 cars in a row on rt 12 north of Alexandria Bay. Just as I was pulling back in (doing 90+) I met a cop. He immediately u-turned, I immediately pulled over. I was polite and honest about making the pass and ended up with nothing but a seatbelt ticket. There was nothing on the car he could have written me up for. Here’s the interesting part… I WAS wearing my seat belt. The trooper gave me this line about, "I’d like to give you a break, and I’m only going to ask you this once… “Were you wearing your seat belt?”. I was smart enough to see what he was doing so I said no and walked away from a HUGE speeding ticket with nothing but a seatbelt ticket.

Bottom line, if they want to give you a break they will. You don’t need to keep something illegal on your vehicle. When you’re looking for a break you want to be doing the least amount of things wrong.

Or you could offer to stripe his street.
