I usually act like I am going to the bathroom and leave without paying, what is this “tipping” thing you guys are talking about?
i can’t stand restroom attendants and feeling like i have no choice but to tip them. i don’t need some asshole to squirt soap in my hand, i’m pretty sure i can manage that on my own.
jeez, you guys are generous. I start at 15% and usually don’t go too much over that. I’ll give 20% for really good service but I am never afraid to go below 15% if the food/service sucks.
im not hard to please…i dont sit there and think about the service to hard unless it screams bad or tremendous. so people get off on stiffing their servant, i think thats a bitch move.
i also dont sit there like a dork with my tip calculator unless asked by the group im with. i just guestimate in my head and throw down a lil extra. wtf is a buck or two.
I’m generally 20% and go up from there, IF my drink is never empty, I never have to wait if I need something after my food arrives etc
you’re a moron for not tipping the server because the food wasn’t good. If the service wasn’t good, you tip 15% and ask to speak to the manager about the poor service. Only if the server has done something that is outlandishly rude or obnoxious is it acceptable to tip below 15%.
how about at a chinese buffet? do i really need to tip 15% from them getting me a drink?
once you reach a certain age in adulthood is good to learn how to be classy if you already arent.

Now that is worth about a 110% tip.
Anyway,
I usually tip 20%+ UNLESS i have absolute horrible service and no one seems to give a flying fuck.
Example, a few tuesdays ago we go to Don Pablos with a group of people for all you can eat tacos. Never went there for that figured what the hell lets try it. The waiter was so freaking horrible. Took 20 minutes to get drinks, came out with the first round of tacos and then it took them 30 minutes more for the next round that everyone wanted and only 6 tacos total came out for a group of 10 people. Then we asked for sour cream and it never came the whole 2 hours we were there and they charged all of us for them at 3 a piece. Even the people who didn’t ask for them.
One of the guys went and talked to the manager twice who didn’t seem to care and after waiting for the “third round” which again was like 7 tacos for 10 people we said fuck it and left. The resturant was less than half full and there were tons of tables that were never bussed the whole time we were there.
I paid my bill and left no tip. I’m not going to tip for poor service when I get charged for shit we never even got, and the manager and server seemed not to care.
Screw that. This isn’t even an exaggeration. I never blame servers for a slow kitchen or bad food, but in this instance that is just fucking rediculous. Over 2 hours and got my drink refilled once, had 4 cold tacos when paying for all you can eat, and charges for sour cream that never came. Then the manager makes up BS excuses? Assholes are lucky I didn’t just leave without paying or leaving a $5 bill on the check with a nice fuck you note.
Needless to say none of us are going back. Patron, Mad Mex, and el Campesino are better anyway.
