Stretch Tires

Same cars with stretched tires drifting, they seem to still be in safe mode

Same with this guy:

I see your point. INSANE stretches like your 195 on a 10J rim.

BUT, that was never stated nor any other insane stretch was, so now i hope you can see where i’m coming from. Your stating that insane stretches aren’t safe. Ok everyone knows that. But this thread was not about what you have posted, and now i hope you see why i said your post had no relevance since the topic at hand were “slight stretches”

i guess your putting the information out there for people to know, thanks. but it was not what me and XuperXero were discussing since we both know what you were trying to prove.

Point is, stretching tires is safe until u GO EXTREME. Drifting is an extreme sport and being “safe” is not in any drifter’s vocabulary when they plan on being sideways while doing 100km/hr +

i see where your coming from, but you have to see where this thread ORIGINALLY was headed towards. it was in no way, shape or form talking about how to run safe setups. drift setups are never 100% safe since its for road racing use only, so why point out the obvious. You see where i’m coming from now?

if you are talking about “safe”, why didn’t you say don’t drift. its not safe.

burning rubber while going 100km/hr puts HUGE INSANE amount of stress on the tires which will be unsafe for your driving experience. its already obvious enough that when everyone can see smoke from your tires that fills the air, it is should be an unsafe issue.

Get my point yet?

Did you even read my post?

I said “i guess your putting the information out there for people to know, thanks.”

are you still trying to prove a point that i already agreed with you?

are you still trying to beat into my head that running a unsafe strech can blow up in my face. if so, you have me completely wrong.

can you stop talking about running insane stretches SINCE that is NOT the topic at hand. the topic was running mild stretches to improve handling. PERIOD.

then you came along and told a story which was informative for the public, which i thanked you for above.

so what is the issue? you told us over stretched tires is unsafe, ok thanks. no one has EVER argued that with you. can you please see the whole picture?

and what am i doing? can you PLEASE tell me. i’m running 225 on a 9J rim. thats what i’m doing. that is no where close to an insane stretch, so please read this WHOLE thread before you type some gibberish.

and for the record, me and XuperXero don’t mount our own tires so why would we care if a bead blows off. the person mounting the tires would have sufficient knowledge on what he is doing, which will protect him in that situation. this thread isn’t about how to mount stretch tires or the implications of running a stretched tire.

the MAIN point is. run a slight stretch like i’ve said at least 10x, and you will get a significant performance/handling gain. PERIOD. that is it. done. finito. jo yun (chinese for done).

can you see where i’m getting. your posts are useless since i’m not even arguing with you about your point of running overly stretched tires, since i never ever encouraged or even mentioned the word “overly stretching”.

you almost seem to think i have mentioned a stretch tire in this entire thread.

if so, please mention to me where i stated such things.

i did not mention running overly stretch tires.

you tell a story about overly running stretch tires and how its dangerous and you shouldn’t do it.

now do you see why your post has no relevance to me?

and thank you for sarcastically complementing my moderator skills. just because i’m a moderator means i can’t be human and converse in a heated topic with another member? have i ever insulted you or called you names? no, so i don’t see a problem with my moderating skills since i see two grown men having a chat, which obviously is showing some communciation problems since either of us is not getting the point of the other person.

edit: this is pretty much our entire conversation starting with me ok, but in a different form and lets see if you understand where i’m coming from.

ChokuDori: hey you should try driving 70km/hr because its faster than 60km/hr.

XuperXero: ya i should but i can’t afford gas and i’m trying to save money etc etc

DJPyro: hey did you know driving 200km/hr is unsafe. my friend got into a car crash from driving too fast. driving 200km/hr or more is unsafe and shouldn’t be done.

ChokuDori: wtf? when did i say we were driving 200km/hr or anything close to that? thank you for letting us know that driving 200km/hr is not safe tho.

THAT IS THE WHOLE CONVERSATION, BUT IN A DIFFERENT FORM.

now i hope you can see where i’m coming from now. you pointed out a fact, but even tho its still related to what i was talking about, its not the same.

enough said and done with… you’re both correct end of sorry no need for a war of word of mouth. experiance is experiance that is all it comes down to.

anywho i think when i get my ride i want to run 16" rims in the front and 17" rims in the rear… what do people think about this? dont know about the tires i want to run on them yet though. i know i work with tires too but its not like its for my own car, i just mount them on rims and let em go. lol.

Edit* DJpyro: samson did agree with you as i did the same to everyone understand that going outrageous with the stretch is unsafe like i have stated in my first post, which i think you both didnt read lol. :stuck_out_tongue: anyways we are all correct now lets get back on the topic at hand liek what i guess said above in my post.

i say drift battle. loser is wrong

the matter was dealt with maturity and also with an open mind. we have both worked things out and have come to realize it was a communication error.

i do apologize to those have read the posts and thought “what the heck is going on”

everything is good now!

thanks for understanding guys.

:GH aaaawwww…

ANYWAYS… about shaved tires who has heard this or seen it???

I’ve only heard of shaved tires for drag.

some people say to run ES100s better, you gotta shave them
or run them reversed and all this crazy stuff.

i say just don’t choose ES100s for drift. Period

so whats everyones winter set up lol :stuck_out_tongue:

Champiro WT-60
215/60/16 all around!!!

all seasons michelins

they are slippery but what ever

You all need to run tires this size, forget the stretch:
