I have Windows Media Center - kinda the same thing I’d imagine, but I’ve never messed around with tivo. I can record shows / whole seasons / pause, rewind, replay live TV / etc. There is a lot that I haven’t messed with yet. The best part is the remote control that came with my computer
go w/ the toshiba unit w/ the DVD burner, and free 3 day tivo guide… and pay for tivo if you like it. Although it’s a blt more expensive… 450 or so… IT’s got a 120GB hd in it if I recall.
i might wait… i did some reading online and it looks like at least 2 more dvr services will enter the market very soon. thats why i think tivo is panicing and selling there boxes soo cheap…
30 dolla is sooo cheep but i think that i want to buy the one with the burner
edit:
thats it, im going to buy one after the bills game. you can transfer the shows to your computer via your network… that makes up my mind for the tivo with the burner…
if you have cable internet and cable TV and a big hard drive already, forget about Tivo. Get a TV card for the puter. But if you don’t have those things, I guess Tivo would be suitable…
