Avant is awesome.
Some people dont like old restored buildings. New hotness is good also. Only one of those we have to speak of that I can even think of is the Avant/Embassy Suites downtown. Personally give me something like that over old woodwork and masonry any day.

Ya they are gorgeous. That is my kind of living. Much better than the old woodwork houses in my opinion.
I personally would say one is more my style over another and not “better” but yes they are nice.
I think this idea is pretty cool. The hotel will be canal side and right by the arena.
I didn’t know Buffalo had a “there is no place to stay” problem that required another hotel to be built.

While I do like seeing progress in the city, it’s hard to get excited about building a new hotel when they aren’t doing anything to justify the need for it. What else is happening to bring more people into Buffalo to the point that they need to spend the night? Is it even hard to get a hotel downtown as it is? Even during special events?

The only positive thing I can see is that it would be located right next to the arena.
Paulo, the only thing I can see they are doing is the whole canal project…however I doubt that will be big enough to bring people in. Maybe during the Labatts hockey tourney, but that’s one weekend out of the year.
