too cold to start thread

87 blazer started no problem

Both of my turd buckets started fine.

never had the problem with a normal battery.
I actually think my problem is the alternator belt… ever since I swapped motors the belt has been slightly loose and the volts would bog down every so often. I’ve got to crawl under some day and tighten up the tensioner

Our pathetic stock battery is showing its true colors in this weather…

When i kick the key over, i get an ABS Fault that flashes on the Driver Information Center, then the motor comes to life… thankfully… i am sure it is only a matter of time before that ABS Fault stays up and the motor does not start.

Guess its time for an Optima

prob worse thing you can do
i have never had so many probs like i do with optimas

i dont like optimas either

Humm i have heard nothing but good about Red/Yellow top optimas…

Any suggestions then?

x2

how could you tell? was it the lack of one sentance smily face response?

buy stock replacement it lasted this long. dont’ see a reason to upgrade unless re locating to back

That may be a possibility soon

That and he didnt IM me asking me how to spell half the words too.

beaters I drove while here in the burgh started up just fine.
99 cavalier, 185k miles, paid $500 bucks for started right up, but the fuckin heat doesnt work. It keeps blowing a fuse. It will work for alittle bit, then as soon as you hit a bump, it blows.
94 camaro wasnt used in 2 months and it started up fine as well…had to take that one out last night since no heat in the cavy…there was ice on the inside of the windshield and rear window.
I dont miss this weather at all…cept Im glad it snowed today!

I have 2 advanced auto parts batteries in my truck, haven’t had a problem yet

i have a napa version of a optima battery in my car. it’s been in there for 4 yrs now with not a problem.

you suck at even copying and pasting

the glow plugs glow BEFORE you start it, not while you start it. that’s what the wait light signifies.

I’ve got a yellow top that’s been in 4 cars now and is between 5 and six years old and has never given my any problems. A couple of those years the battery sat on a shelf, and never needed charged – it’s always fired, and never gone dead…

In my 92 Geo Storm the original GM battery lasted until 2003. During the last month if I turned on the high beams the whole car shut off.
