For the right price, I can overlook the lack of asthetics and get on board. It’s not like the original cars that it’s based on was a looker.
Wheels, drop, and red tail lights can drastically change the look of this car. I’ll keep my judgement till then. Concept to production will always change. Lots of variables to consider from cost, reliability, and safety. A vehicle has to perform in all types of conditions, concept wont always meet those standards.
Needs an sti motor/potential.
i dont like it. but like jay_g said theres a few little things that could change the look.
any better?
Better but make it black and add a flush rear spoiler and maybe a sunshade.
For $25,000 why wouldnt somebody just buy the new genesis coupe with a 275hp 2.0t with a 10yr warranty?
according to hyundai’s site, the 2.0t is only 210hp…and the v6 is 305…
and if the balance and handling is as great as everyone (mfg and the few that have taken it for a test drive), thats why you wouldnt. im all for this car, pref the subaru version…
Yes
Even if the Genesis has more power it is a larger car, and as we all know in the downhill a large car with more power will overwork the tires.
UGH I said NEW geneis coupe… 2.0t 275hp/3.8 v6 350hp, and please tell me where any of us race downhill? Lets keep this realistic for a dd a gen coupe will be much more practical/fun and be more response to mods…Unless you want to keep the 5yr/60k b2b warranty
The genesis weighs 3,300 lb even with the 4 cylinder, that’s why.
This post proves you are missing the entire point and purpose of this car.
Not saying it wouldnt be a fun track car, but nobody goes out and buys a brand new car strictly for that, so for a DD i feel the gen coupe would be a much better buy. I also think a s2000 would be better for the money but since they no longer make them i wont go there.
Yeah, that’s not bad at all…it’s incredible what suspension and wheels do to a car’s looks…I’m still on the fence though on this car…I just loved the concept so much, and when the prod. model came out was a bit bummed…but it’s still so new, I can see this growing on me…
Damn that puts this car’s size into perspective.
This car just got a whole lot more interesting.
Journo-tweets from the Subaru BRZ’s Japanese launch are offering up new insight on that half of the Subyota equation. Most specifically, pricing and options. The BRZ will reportedly start at around $24,000 and rise to $27,000 for the Limited model.
From what I read, it’s going to have 16" discs up front and 14" in the rear… that car is gonna stop on a dime.
IMO though, I’m going to wait a year or two till the “STi” version comes out… this car would be dumb fun with 300+ hp.
Top Gear went to subaru’s test track and took it out on their track for testing, they absolutely RAVED about its handling and dynamics…the article is on Jalopnik
