my only answer on nasioc is “buy sensors”
it’s like, no I don’t want to spend $200 on sensors. mother fucker
just wait till OBD III
everytime a CEL flicks on, it notifies your states DMV. they send you a letter saying you have until this time to fix it. if you fail to fix it, or fail to spend a certain amount of money towards fixing the problem(must have proof), your car will be disabled. this has already been set in stone and will be released before too long
yea… so, don’t, and have a light on your dash. there is lots of other lights on there, don’t see why this one is so offensive
pretend it is a super boost light and it means your car is super fucking awesome, thats what i do.
remove the cluster, remove the bulb.
if the tire and rim size are the same as stock you can have them flopped around. wherever u get it done make sure its at the proper torque or it could mess it up. every car has a different torque so ya just an FYI. only problem will be they will corrode b/c this tmps system was designed where its warm so they felt alumimium would suffice. but not around here. i would just deal with it…put a sticker over it;)
that’s the biggest bs i’ve ever heard…
^ +1
^ +2 The only thing they can make you do is not pass inspection that year. lol
and, FWIW, for the first two calender years your car is exempt from emissions testing. When I took my 2008 in they said that you could run a straight pipe for two years on a brand new car and it’ll pass emissions
tru^ …just pretend the light gave you 20whp :thankyou:…
Please don’t make crap up and post it on a public forum.
As for the TPMS, the cluster in these cars is very easy to remove, just pull out the bulb. These systems are useless for people that know how to keep air in their tires, and a nuisance for us techs with people that do not know how to keep air in their tires. I just love picking up a repair order with “tire light on” on it, because I know it’s going to be a total waste of my time.
^yah and then u have the idiots that make matters worse cuz they break em every time they mount/dismount tires…and yes total waste of time…
thats what the BMW instructor at my school told me. said BMW will be implementing it soon.
if you dont believe me, thats cool. i’m just passing on information
Id do that or just put a piece of black tape over it if it bothers you that much. :meh: myself id ignore it or, lol i like the super awsome super boost light idea just pretend its that ha.
why dony u pull the little bulb out the ash thats lights that icon up, i did it for a abs light on my girls car
At my dealership I take care of bs like tire lights and that so that the tech’s don’t have to bother themselves with it. Sure is a pita, though, when the sh*tty sensors can’t handle the cold climate so they break off when I’m taking off the valve stem cap and then its a 150 dollar booboo. Has happened more than once. Whoops.
$98 each for an Xterra, ask me how I know. A little black tape will cover the light just fine.
My mechanic did say that they will be part of inspection in the next few years.
Edit: Toyota = $152 each!!!
s’ok if its part of the inspection, just throw on the stock wheels with TPMS in them for inspection.
^True but my point is if they fail it is more money NY is making you spend.
