VW Tire Pressure Sensors?

Any newer VW owners know If you put after market rims on say a 07 Jetta Wolfy without the TPS devices; would there be a really annoying indicator light dingy thing going off constantly. If so, could I pull a fuse to stop it?

Im not planning on putting bling blangin rims on the wifes commuter. I was just thinking about getting some black steely 15s with blizzaks for winter time. I can get the steelies and 15" tires for about same price as 16" tires and it would save the hassle of getting tires mounted and balanced every winter/spring.

Come on it’s a VW! Nothing’s that easy! (I’m a bit jaded since I started looking into fixing my A/C system and found that rather than having high and low pressure switches, my car has a single transducer that sends a square wave back to a control module, the frequency of which is based on pressure. This allows or stops the compressor from cycling based on the signal frequency. Meaning I can’t paperclip the pressure switch to check it. I would need an oscilloscope. :bloated: )

Anyhow, read this, get a vag-com cable, order new wheels:

haha Thanks, yea I knew VWs were a pain. Especially after I was on tirerack or tire.com I cant remember which, and they said the replacement TPMS sensors for the new wheels were like $240.

Stupid gizmos on new cars, I can LOOK at the tire and tell if its low on air.

 Yeah but they try to design cars for the dumbest of the dumb. Well, that and people want run-flat tires because flat tires are so common :cjerk: and you can’t have run-flats without TPM sensors. Well, you could but you’d be retarded.
