ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT
WITH ANOTHER 2 TO 3 INCHES FRIDAY MORNING. STORM TOTAL
ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 8 INCHES ARE LIKELY BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON
ACROSS MUCH OF WESTERN NEW YORK.
This happens at least once a year. They call for a ginormus storm dumping feet of snow! In reality we get an inch or 2. Yet when they call for a dusting we get a ton. Its a crap shoot. This storm was as over-hyped as the Canadaia Vs. Russia game the other night. We’ll get 3-4" over most of WNY. With temps hovering around freezing any snow we get will be wet and slushy. Hardly the Armageddon blizzard they were predicting.
they actually said that the temps are lower than expected, causing the snow to be very light and powder like. The winds will be so strong that it will create whiteouts and terrible driving conditions.
Yep, big letdown of a storm in WNY. Other parts of the state got hammered though.
Maybe 3" here in Amherst. I decided to snowblow the driveway before work just because I had about a 1 foot drift right in front of my garage that would have been interesting trying to get through.
yea down here in Corning-Elmira we got 12"+. And there were some pretty serious drifts this morning around the house. And i live in town, i can not think of how bad they are out in the country! That is a lot of snow for this area, we have not had more than 2" at one time this season yet.
