Nice trade, I am more of a wrx fan myself but the tdi def has a lot of positive qualities.

just got my car all clean to trade in… nice pick up is the TDI golf still there
did you do the VNT-17 I was told its a direct swap for my car (late 01-03) my turblow is leaking a bit of oil into my intake so im eather going to have to rebuild or upgrade, the 17 looks like a decent upgrade, but i think im going to have to do nozzels at the same time. 
oh and im unitronic stage 1+ (not sure what that means but its night and day to stock

Pretty neat car, I just worry about daily driving a diesel. Any problems? Do you need to leave it idle before you shut down to cool the turbo?
no its just like a gas turbo car…lol just better MPG, and no emission inspection (unless newer then 08)
they are GREAT DD, just a bit more expensive for mait, but the MPG, and longevity of the drive-train makes it worth it IMHO.
UGH tyler I hate you. I need a new DD BAD and It just isnt sensible for me to buy what I want right now. Soon enough you may have to have your grandfather find another 
They have another jetta tdi, and I think a golf tdi too.
A diesel motor is much more reliable (apples to apples) than a gas motor.

I knew a kid with a golf TDI that was chipped and injectors and it was so much fun.
no my plan was to upgrade to a vnt17 when i got back from georgia last year but i upgraded to a new car instead lol. my stock 15 was strong holding about 21lbs and never had a prob.
i dont think you HAVE to do nozzles but really whats 300 bucks to just get it done the right way.
im not famililar with unitronics tdi flash. i had an upsolute and despite it being really smokey i had nothing to complain about considering the price i picked it up for. but if i were to pay full price for a chip i would go rocketchip.
god this thread really makes me want to pick up a mk4 tdi golf :banghead:
Nowadays, that setup will make around 180+whp, and 3XXft/lbs tq. With no smoke. The t00ning has come along way in the last few years. People are generally seeing around 50mpg on the highway with setups like that.
