Basically everything I want/need in a cheap daily.
Oh, and the 40mpg doesn’t hurt either.
Being a daily I’m not gonna touch the thing…
Maybe just, intake,straight pipe, and a tune.
I heard Nozzels are a good upgrade too, In my search for 50+ mpg.
Also getting a hitch to tow a small trailer around for my dirtbike/pitbike/snowmobile.

IIRC Rocketchip + injectors = 50mpg and like 130hp and 270 ft-lbs.

yeah pretty much, you will need to do a clutch. They will do 50mpg on the hwy stock if you drive slow enough.

edit: my dad had a diesel rabbit 30 years ago, he said it was the shittiest ride ever, but it had 400000 miles on it, and got over 50mpg,
Turbo diesel baby. Nice pick up i always had a thing for Jetta’s. Now mod it to 100hp.

Edit: How many miles are on it? I have TB tools when it comes around. ALH a presume? my inlaws have a late 03 (aka 03.5) it has the PD motor
That’s what I get on the highway now, bone stock. An aluminum skid plate is a must. The Panzer plate has saved my oil pan more than once.
I think you will love it. My wife and I both have TDIs (98 jetta 02 Golf) Torque is fun and 600 a tank is also cool.
It has like 90k on it, and VW of OP is my grandpas place, i’d never buy a VW anywhere else!
yeah, it’s pretty damn slow, but the torque is nice, honestly, you can run it in 5th gear at 35 mph and accelerate to 65 mph no problem
I had a Dodge ram with a cummins motor, with the smarty programer and the TC locked, that thing would cloud out the sun.
I prob will mod it slightly, intake and straight pipe for sure (works wonders on diesels)
