Anyone wanna drop by and help me lift/install the tranny today?

Call me at 905-452-1765 after 7pm if you want to drop by. And I’ll give
you directions.

If you are coming, you will have to come around 7:30pm.

If I don’t hear from anyone by 8pm, i will be busy watching
Survivor: Guatemala. I will then proceed into the garage after the show.

Well I gave up after I had the tranny 1/2 way in the air supported by jacks.

Just a PITA to do it alone.

I have the tranny sitting half way in the air supported on two jacks but
it’s a pita trying to rotate it and keeping it from falling off the stands.

I’ll show you the new toy I got yesterday for my buildup :naughty:

Here is how you do it alone Gautam.

  1. Lay tranny on ground on its side
  2. YOU lay down on your side behind the tranny (Like you are spooning it)
  3. Pull it to your chest and rotate onto your back (with tranny on your chest now)
  4. rest bell housing on your titties (as they will be the softest or use rags)
  5. Rest tailstock on your knees with your knees at a 90deg angle
  6. grab bell housing with your hands at about 8:00 and 4:00
  7. Lift into place while adjusting your knees (keeping them together of coarse)
  8. Install bolts
  9. ???
  10. Profit :dunno:
  11. Just don’t forget about the top bolt (hehe, oh wait, SR’s don’t have the same bolt there… or DO they ??? :noes:

It is actually easier to do it this way then it is with two guys as you have full control of it. Just maybe get a rag to rest your head and don’t use a creeper.

this way works pretty well. even if your 130lbs soaking wet

Problem is my 12-pack gets in the way and makes it hard to work under
there while holding a camera trying to get pictures of every angle. :hsugh:

As for the top bolt, I left that outta my KA. I hate that cursed bolt. :squint:
But this is an RB26DETT so there is no top bolt.

Don’t worry about it. I woulda showed up but it was 9:30 when I woke up from my nap. Which is sorta why I wanted you to call me.
