With the lack of actual room to cut things opened up the wheel well a little and now working on getting it matched up to the tub I forgot to grab more pictures only have the starting one.

Taking the phrase hacker quite literally.

Someone offered up a plasma cutter to do this with but I was worried about getting carried away.

So dynamat is the worst thing on the planet most of it is gone now just need to come back and remove residue.

Also picked up from pro 275 radials

 when does demo stop and reubuilding begin? cage?

Cage goes in this week

Working on the mini tubs rest of the week until then

Getting there still need to cut in a bit more but you’re cutting into 2-5 layers of metal at some points so its easier to go a little bit at a time.

very cool. I wonder if the dry ice trick works on dynomat? Too late to try in this application of course…

Have any plans to make the tubs look pretty in the interior? This is making me want to do them again.

So after the tubs im doing this

But when all that is done I was looking at smoothing everything and painting it similar to the pic below assuming I can keep the weight down…I’m not in a huge rush at this point going to get the chassis/suspension/paint finished and see where that leaves me in the season. I still have to order some snky snky stuff for the Vette.

Nice progress. This chassis should be a great racer once finished.

Those tubs look nice… I’m assuming the tubs you see in the picture are an aesthetic piece over the actual tubs, correct? That’s probably the only way to pull off that look.

A lot of people take fiber glass and smooth everything out then paint.

I will report back after I do some more search the other thing is I have to run carpet for a few classes so even if it looks like that nobody will ever see it.

Makes sense…

If you get a molded carpet, I suggest cutting around the tubs and sectioning in other pieces directly to the tubs. The molded carpet didn’t want to behave for me… I’ll trying to find a picture. Although you’re probably using super duper lightweight non-molded stuff anyways, so I guess that’s a moot point.

In an effort to hit a 3000lb race weight(or less) with an iron block and turbo…Eastwood makes these poverty machines since I don’t expect to use it very often outside of this build or when people borrow it couldn’t justify spending more.

And cage is currently in the process of going in

I have been traveling for work so not much time on this

Plasma cutter works pretty well…below was the first couple cuts but once you get it dialed it cuts very clean.

Not wanting to take 5 years to build this thing and being extreme busy with work lately.

I had Muscle Car Alley pick it up they will finishing the mini tubs and doing some other sheet metal work basically making it look like the other white camaro in the above pics.

This also showed up

And the MWC cowl delete kit

Hopefully all the random chassis shit will be done by the end of May so Choko can paint it…Then attacking the front suspension.
