Hey man, you have the issue driving at night without super awesome tinted windows, not me. As long as you know the cost of them is added attention from various police departments, then :tup:

How about just don’t drive like an asshole and you wont have problems. We shouldn’t need to see these threads, it should just be a given that cops roam the streets on a regular. lol If you have anything done to the car (plates removed, tinted windows, loud exhaust…etc) you should realize you are playing your cards and have a chance to get stopped. If you don’t want to, change what ever the hell is wrong with your car…problem solved.
driving like an ass has nothing to do with being pulled over for window tints or front plate when the state is broke. Knock on wood i have not been pulled over for no front plate in the fd yet.
I keep mine in my back seat and if they ask I show them I have it but claim I don’t have screws.

Yup. I got pulled over on Sheridan the other night for tints and “loud exhaust” even though I was cruising at 40mph in 6th aka was quiet.
I believe my statement was about driving like a dick will get you pulled over. AND if you have any of that stuff done to the car, you should be expecting to get pulled over. If you don’t want to, replace or repair what you need to. Otherwise expect to get pulled over. It doesn’t state you will not get pulled over for driving good but having other problems with your car. lol
It really depends on the type of car you drive…
Drive F-body with no exhaust = Don’t get exhaust tickets
Drive Honda Hatch with muffler = Get exhaust tickets
Drive 1990 Buick with tints = Get tint tickets
Drive new BMW = Don’t get tint tickets
I have smoked license plate covers on my TL and people always ask me if I get tickets for them. I have never been bothered by cops for them, even when they were directly behind me. I don’t drive like an idiot either. If you look like a law abiding citizen, they leave you alone. If you have a 3" exhaust on your civic, they will assume you are speeding or something is wrong with your car.

slammed bmw with tinted windows and wheels = pulled over once for speeding on 990 gave me a ticket for tint instead.

Got pulled over by one of these guys today… Man, what a dick.
On my way to the shop I see this guy go from pulling someone over on the far right part of Transit road, to immediately pulling right across 3 lanes to pursue someone else. I think to myself “Wow he must be handing out tickets like crazy today”.
Upon driving down transit around the same spot 30 minutes later, I see the same Tahoe coming at me in the opposite lane of traffic. Knowing this guy has been all over prior, I fully expected to be pulled over (No front plate, bad inspection sticker… I literally just put the car on the road last night lol). So, I see the guy pull into the median with his lights on, and I pull into the corner parking lot and prepare all my paperwork.
Trooper rolls up is at my window before I can blink.
Trooper: “Trying to duck me son?”
Me: “Uh, no sir; I saw you put your lights on and just assumed you were coming for me. So I pulled into the parking lot to be out of traffic.”
Trooper “Well it looks like you were trying to duck me. I’ll have your car impounded in a heart beat punk!”
Me “Well sir, I wasn’t trying to duck you… Just simply pulling over in a safer spot”
Trooper: “Wheres your front plate, wheres your inspection sticker?”
Me Hands him temporary inspection sticker “My front plate is in the window, and I was just headed home to put it on the bracket that came with the car. I just bought it sir”
Trooper “WHY ISN’T YOUR PLATE WIRED ONTO THE GRILL”
Me “Uh, I’m not sure sir. I figured this would be fine for the time being”
Trooper: “Roll up your window part way”
Me Rolls up window
Trooper “Hang tight”
Trooper Grabs tint gun and checks my window
Mind you, my windows have 0 tint on them lol
Trooper “Go put that plate on and don’t let me see you again. I work out of here, I will see you again son”
Granted, I deserved to be pulled over. But this guy was screaming at me for no reason. Especially with the “ducking” thing. I couldn’t have pulled into a more obvious place. I really hate troopers on a power trip… If he was more reasonable I wouldn’t have even posted this. These guys are out for blood. (and by blood, I mean money)
Back in the day, I had a trooper pull me over and when I called him “officer”, he freaked out. Demanded I call him “trooper”. Every response was to be followed by “trooper”…the guy was a real jerk.
I’ve been “flicked” at a few times the past couple weeks on back roads to get out of the way. I really hate that.

this would be one reason I now run a dash cam in my car. I do not care for dick head cops. I understand being pulled over and if you did something, you have something that constitutes for you to be pulled over, fine. But when someones not giving the cop a hard time and they have to drop the dick card, I’d like to capture it and post it online.
Edit: I’ve seen that truck about 5 times today. He actually followed me down Main St for a good 4 miles. I have tints

Not true, i do not drive like a dick or have a loud exhaust. Got pulled over in 4 times in the last 1.5 years. Mostly amherst cops they suck.
Last time i got pulled over-
Driving very nicely 42 in a 40 cars passing me going 55+ cop sitting in a parking lot up ahead unmarked unit. Cars drive past him so do I . He comes flying out lights on I laugh thinking he’s getting the people speeding until he gets behind me. Seriously why? Walks up to my car tells me to roll up the window halfway puts the tint meter on, walks towards the front of my car, checks my tires then checks the backs. Other officer checks the other side tires they go back to car. Come back with 2 tint tickets, one for front windows one for my little rear coupe windows like you have to be effing kidding 2 tickets? I ask very nicely why he was checking out my tires. He replies Im a traffic cop and I can check anything about your car I want and I suggest you don’t ask any questions if you want to drive away from here. Me having worked on cars and at a shop state that I know the NYSI requirements and if he also carries a tire gauge in his car (already had my two tickets so wth why not). Explains he stops cars for bald tires all the time, he gets quite pissed at me for asking and goes back to his car.
I can’t believe he passes up on speeding tickets to pull me over
