Truckers in Florida fed up with high fuel prices

Is Shaggy in FL ?

I went to Washington, D.C. back in high school (circa 2000) and in the middle of our stay there, there was a huge trucker’s protest right through downtown. I think it was in regards to the rise in Diesel prices (which at the time were maybe $1.80-2.50 ish)

I walked out of the Holocaust museum and almost got run over by a Semi doin’ about 80 through downtown D.C. blowing through red lights. It was awesome.

My dad was a trucker for 17 years, so I have a soft spot in my heart for truckers… If they want to make a statement, they just should stop running. Park the trucks and turn them off.

 to them. I hope it works!

I hope it works, too. My father is a truck driver of about 23 years. I think they should do that on interstates all over.

it will not accomplish anything. you can not get 2 truck drivers to agree on anything

I can understand that, but when it affects all truckers, I think it’s worth setting egos aside and trying it.

Shaggy agrees that your truck is slower than his:kekegay: :stick: :kekegay:

his truck is governed at 62 mine is 65:madfawk:

I heard there was a similar type of protest with truckers today in Vandergrift area.

No truck

Too many company drivers, Independent drivers are the ones taking the hit

Definitely true

No truck at the moment.

I got hired on for Pitt-Ohio, Start next week

Trucking companys buy fuel in bulk and buy it when its lowest.
probably most companys still are paying $2.xx if that.

Trucking companies need to protest not measely drivers

congrats

eh trucking is lame, still need a real vacation
3 days wasn’t enough

just paid $4.30… $120 ouch

I am down with the protest!

Now you know why I bought a vortec…

They aren’t trying to lower fuel prices they are trying to raise freight prices meaning that you will pay more. When the freight prices go up they will pass that along to you and as with any price increase add on some extra profit for themselves.

Do you still hope it works??

raising freight prices is in direct with higher fuel. :stick:

$800 for fuel traveling 900 miles to a destination is like minimum wage when its all said and done. Hours/meals/
$1000 a week truck payment etc factored in.

Lease Owner Operators have it rough

Tug of War? :stick:

there was a guy parked next to me last night. lets just say it got down to a 50 degrees. he was there for 2 days with some other truckers doing there thing in protest.

the funny part about it…he ran his truck the whole time. just think idling for 2 days @ 1 gallon a hr.

truckers sit there and bitch about fuel prices but then they waste 10-15 gallons of fuel idling a night. sounds like they need to suck it up.
