TT 427 Supra

Or nitrous

Is that Dom’s shop? Did someone owe that guy a 10 second car?

2jz + turbo you mean. That motor is nothing without a power adder

amen sister, i dont think people on this site understand the concept of displacement.

I suppose, but thats an odd way to compare two cars.

how isnt that how your car is? Comes with a turbo right? Well my ls1 doesnt. Apples to oranges when comparing a turbo car to an NA car. With my displacement i can make the same power or more with less boost and more compression, reliably. So i would have to say that the 2jz isnt that far ahead

2jz was designed to be a turbo motor…of course it’s going to suck w/o a turbo. LSx was designed with displacement, 2jz with a turbo. Adding a turbo to the lsx would be like upgrading the turbo on the 2jz.

nelson racing build some good shit.

but taking the turbo off would be nothing like an NA ls1, which is my point, if its limited to a power adder and not as versatile, how can it possibly be better?

the more option usually means the better

awesome shit, this is my fav by far

+1

you can build a N/A 427 FOR BOOST with low compression pistons and shit and still make 500whp without any power adders.

All that really matters and should matter is that dollar for dollar you can get more out of an Lsx than you can with a 2JZ.

Pointless debate.

Wrong.

BPU on a 2JZGTE can get you like 400whp. That’s 125whp or so over stock. Probably wouldnt cost you more than $500 or so.

What power adders, besides nitrous, can get you there with LSx?

your joking right? Ever heard of a cam swap?

Cam swap gets you 125whp? Under 400?

Taking the turbo off a 2jz would be like taking 2 cyls off an ls1. It’s retarded. You cannot compare the two motors NA to NA because the 2jz was never designed to be NA.

I’m not saying which is better, because who knows, I’m just saying your reasoning for saying the lsx being better is flawed.

I’m reading cams only add about 50whp on a LS1 for example. I’m not going to argue apples to oranges here.

You could EASILY make 400WHP on an LSX without power-adders.

And I don’t know where your getting a full BPU setup for $500 from but I/E alone and your double that on a supra, on most any car.

Oh and there are a few LSX engines out there who put close to 400WHP on the ground stock.
