i wouldnt put pistons and rods in if you are only going to run 8 psi. but i dont know much about your engine. i know the a20 have cast iron sleeves, and you can run 10 psi making well over 200whp with absolutly no problems.
b20 has thin sleeves cant handle all the power of that boost unless u use a smaller turbo
its the cylinder pressure that cracks the sleeves. too much timing will do that.
there are a few tuners making big numbers now on h22s and b20s, all of them agree that the issues with them blowing up is because of timing.
you can make the power, and do it somewhat reliably, but there are better options.
