Turbo vs n20 which one do you prefer? and why???

poor mans boost vs actual boost. I have been on the boost wagon for the past 2 years or so. I am really wanting something turboed and I have a ef hatch now and I am also looking at an eg hatch. Homemadeturbo.com has gotten me even closer to boosting. By piecing a kit together, some kids have turboed there d series hondas for as little as 300-400 bucks. I know a N20 kit can be had for the same price. I know the nitrous will need the boost filled but the turbo will always be there. Just seems like there will be more start up cost with turboing a car than throwing on a nitrous kit. I am just looking for everyones opinion and what you are running. I am kinda favoring the turbo, gotta love hearing that turbo spool up and the BOV.

something about n20 scares me. not sure if all the hype created over it in the original FnF movie (which i saw prob when i was around 13-14? i cant remember when it came out) or if its i just dont like the idea of what it does and the fact that it seems like a lot of engines cant really (or shouldnt be able to) handle that kind of jump. if i ahd to choose between the 2, id go turbo.

but give me an American V8 with a supercharger and i’ll be happy as can be

gota tell u…after comparing my $$$$ setup versus a certain losers $$$ setup…that kept up with my $$$$ setup… im liking the idea of the $$$ setup…all tho…my $$$$ setup never runs out, unlike his $$$ setup, and my $$$$ setup and easily be turned clockwise for more ---------->

turbos are fun… if all i was worried about was going really fast and winning, id go big cubes and nitrous

edit: as far as safety…ur fucked whether ur n20 or turbo unless u gota tuner that has half a brain

yeah, I have read, the tune is everything

Turbo.
They make fun noises.

I feel like a 300 dollar turbo setup would have a lifespan of about 5 seconds…

Turbo FTW

Both. Turboed motors looovvveee N2O.

n20 is much much cheaper… MUCH

Both are effective as long as you plan your setup accordingly and don’t cut corners. Now you can be “thrifty” without buying cheap shit parts that don’t work. For example, Zerodaze’s (Now Beck’s car) initial turbo setup cost under $1000 using mostly DSM parts. Turbocharging your car can be viewed as a big initial investment, but even with nitrous, you have to buy some type of kit. Making power reliably will come down to who tunes your car, and you staying responsible. Bad owners blow up just as many cars as bad tunes.

n/a ftw, requires a master tuner

my inital turbo setup cost under $600 using dsm parts. Smart neon owners can be boosted for $300-$400.

As far as safety…theres too many variables to come up with a conclusion on which is safer.

nonetheless my vote is turbo…no refils required there.

both…

Turbos are hot

being that you have a honda just turbo it because its easy(er than other cars). I run nitrous in my solara right now with a turbo project on hold thats just one thing after another and I havnt even started the actual build. When i started out i thought I could do it for $2000 and im already well over $3000 just collecting parts. With a honda obviously you will be a lot cheaper but you havto make sure you do it right the first time around.

after driving a certain boosted car today and remembering the stealth from the past, I def would go with Turbo. Also, I don’t like the idea of having to fill up my spray…I dont have to do with the turbo, it’s always there.

They are really hard to compare, especially if its a daily driver we are talking about and how many cubes the engine is.

More power across the board/all the time…turbo.
More power in a race situation only…juice.

Yeah I think thats about the size of it. I like the always available turbo.

Bottle 4L

:word: you dont have to put the wear and tear on your engine, or burn excess gas, or deal with a less streetable car, when you’re not trying to go fast.
