not quite, the GT40 is basically set on the 35 platform so around 600-700 wheel…the 42 is completely different hosuings and stuff that puts you over the 1000hp range
I have the GT2871 on my 240 now… its nice for response, but is definitely lacking on top end pull. I would highly suggest the GT30-R, fast spool… and if you decide to build the motor later on you’ll be able to make over 500 whp, which should be plenty.
this one???
or this one???
thats the same as the top one ^…how is that gonna spool? and is it gonna be efficient to run at like 10 lbs maybe 12 lbs is it gonna be worth my while to spend all the money on getting a new mani and downpipe made and investing in a wastegate and what size would i need?
it might be easier to call Jay or Denis at Hybrid. They deal with this every day… or maybe Joe would know, I really can’t tell you.
yep…im only gonna be the low boost for this season next season itll get bumped
It truly just depends on your goals for the car. If you just want a quick daily driver, and all around street car the 2871 will probably be plenty. Capable of around 400 whp.
If you plan on making it mostly a drag race car, but still very streetable. Then the 30R would be my choice.
I used to daily drive my 240 with the GT30-R on all the time, the spool time is still very good and had crazy top end. My highest trap with that turbo was 129.90 but that was the run I spun a bearing on, low 130mph traps are very possible.
GT2871R would be tits for your setup… you have a nissan T25 right now don’t you?
yea i am running on a T25 rite now and its just one of those young and dumb learn your lesson kind of things lol next season most likely my setup is gonna be a 2 liter, ls/vtec and i was just kind of worried about the 2871 running out of power in the future and im still new to this whole thing so just kind of feeling my way around
cory from slowmotion made like 770 on that turbo
either way its out of his price range…

Mitsubishi 14b. Enough Said
If it can get a 3100 Awd in the 10’s in can throw a hatchback with no problem.
where is a good place online to look at turbonetics stuff?
why are garrett turbos so much more money then say for example turbonetics? Is there that big of a difference or are you paying for the name?
To give you an idea on my price range anything up to $1500 preferably not all the way to 1500 but i can prolly do it…
Im looking at both the GT30R and GT35R…why is it that the 35 is rated to 600hp and the 30 only 500? They look practically the same is it because the turbine is bigger? I dont really understand these numbers im looking at so if someone could help it would be appreciated…
Turbine
-Wheel: 60mm w/ 84 trim
^for the 30R
Turbine
-Wheel: 68mm w/ 84 trim
^ for the 35R
and i see the compressor is bigger on the 35 but what do these two numbers mean? thanks for all the help
4cly turbos are gay get a v8.
eric has a 30R its plenty enuff turbo for everything
so its not worth spending the extra 45 for the 35R?
Good turbo, im either running that turbo on my next setup or a GT47-80
:eek2:
