when I screw up and get caught i’ll man up and tell it like it is. She gave me a unsafe lane change ticket. I don’t have power steering This car is NOT going to be making any quick lane changes. Then after she flips the lights on and swerves across 4 lanes she almost rear ends me because apparently she didn’t get the memo that when lights and siren go on people slow down. I was pulled over engine off and completely stopped when she went sliding past me. I didn’t stop hard.
And no i wasn’t speeding. The only non falsified tickets she could have gave me would have been for loud exhaust, front plate, and no rear view mirror. Instead she made up a moving violation and said I got off easy.
So far each of my transmission has been a different failure. This one died after testing the transmissions capability for high rpm. I got my new cams installed and the top end is drastically improved. right at 8500rpm it made a bad noise, then the next day it partially failed going to Ohio. Did a quick fluid and filter change and drove it 200 miles back home.

my biggest disappointment is that I wasted 35 bucks in race gas. We added a bunch of timing and it really woke the car up and then the listed events happened shortly after.

I love your determination with this car. Personally, I’d drop the boost, link up with a Quaife’d 5-speed, and rock that in your '89. Maybe not as quick but probably more fun.

the sho manual tranny isnt that much better. 300 crank ft/lb limit, mostly obsolete on repair parts, and if you send out 20 gear sets for inspection, TWO will come back without microfractures … including new pieces

I like my ATX honestly. The driveability is so much better on my ATX car when it works properly. I can’t imagine driving my MTX car with a turbo. Hell it is NA and it has no traction now. first spins anywhere you floor it, and second easily lights up if you try and do any kind of spirited driving in the corners. It is still a blast don’t get me wrong but for street driving my turbo ATX rocks.
My favorite thing about my old FPS tranny (2 trannies ago) was punching it from a light and watch the boost slowly build through first and when it would shift into second it would burn the tires durring the shift. Imagine a 2 second long “chirp” fun stuff.
or a 555 or a 568 or 1992+ 523 for that matter. super strong and doesnt have the occasional 2nd gear issues that the SRT trans has.
