TV nerds, I won a TV

Well I didnt really “win” it, but I earned it through work for a specified production level.

The TV they are giving me is a 47 LG LED smart Tv (listed here, http://www.americantv.com/productpage/LG_Electronics-47GA6400-47_inch_Class_1080p_120Hz_3D_LED_Google_TV,021347364#photoTab )

Problem is, I already have a TV that size and my console is set up for a 60 inch.

So, they said I can pay the difference between whatever tv that is listed on american TV’s website. (the credit will be around 1,000) that being said, I dont want to spend a bunch more unless you can give me a credible and legit reason to pay for a 2k tv.

Id like to stick with Sharp, Sony, LG, or Samsung (everything I own is Samsung or LG it seems) I obviously want it to have built in WiFi, but other than that, I have no clue what else I want.

I dig these 1700 dollar samsung 60 inch http://www.americantv.com/productpage/Samsung-UN60F6300-60_inch_Class_1080p_120Hz_Smart_LED_HDTV,023336060?itemCd=023336060&linkBack=L3Byb2R1Y3RsaXN0L0xFRF9MQ0RfNDBpbmNoX2FuZF9MYXJnZXJfQ2xhc3MsNTA3ND92ZW5kPVNBTVUmY2F0Q2Q9NTA3NA%3D%3D

Or… am I missing something, 3d glasses included would be nice, as would a sound bar/bluray player. I’m not overly concerned with it though

Thanks in advance

are you against plasma?

I love my Panasonic plasma. The only downfall is whites aren’t super LED bright. But it is THE best picture of any TV I’ve ever owned.

Love our Panasonic plasma vt50. Whites are good, blacks are super dark. May even be better than the Elite we have.

This thread is full of white people problems lol

Not against plasma, just didn’t see anything there that fit the bill.

What are the advantages.

Just saw the plasmas. This is going in my living room, it’s not crazy bright in there, but it’s kinda bright during the late afternoon.

How is the pn60f5500?

Ill probably play a little cod, watch a few movies, and mostly football games on it.

That pn60f5500 seems pretty decent for 200 bucks with your credit. Active 3D and 2 pairs of glasses included.

Plasma
Pros: excellent contrast and black levels; effortless motion; good picture depth
Cons: not as power-efficient or thin as most LCDs; generates more heat than LCDs (heat is not bad with the new ones, back in the day my old samsung would make my bedroom 80 degrees)

LCD with fluorescent backlight
Pros: panels weigh less than plasma and use less energy
Cons: picture slightly less natural and “filmlike” than plasmas

LCD with LED backlight
Pros: panels use the least energy and weigh less than plasma; models with local dimming capability can have black levels rivaling plasmas
Cons: picture slightly less natural and “filmlike” than plasmas

Basically the only drawback to plasma is that it isn’t a super bright display. I have the VT55 in my living room with no issues whatsoever. Plasmas have the fastest refresh rate of 600hz.

So i decided on the PN60F5500 for 1299, but I’m worried about it being out of stock (due to the limited stock *)

What would be the next best 60 inch on www.americantv.com (without spending 2g’s)

They’re going to call me in the morning and ask me to make a choice, so any help is appreciated

Panasonic is renowned for being the best plasma. I think you’ll like yours.

they dont sell panasonic…??

I have the 46" version of that Samsung and I fucking love it.
