Twin turbo Trans Am build and LSX swap Mustang hackery

Ask contract killer about how well his meth setup worked on his Evo…the things you mentioned could also happen but are far less likely, except I’ve seen injectors clogged from running e85 because it cleans everything out of the tank and lines from pump gas. Wastegates, boost controllers and the other things failing is highly unlikely. They function on spring pressure.

Running injectors at 100% duty cycle on anything is a terrible idea, the excessive labor on the ball/plunger will cause failure very quickly

Well I am not running E85. Simply is not happening. I would have to rebuild my whole fuel system and be mindful of where i am and worrying about fuel availability. If i want the big number i’ll put race gas in it. I was asking about meth just for a little extra safety net. I wouldn’t use it as a crutch, If i need the bigger injectors i guess i will have to spring for them. If i can hit 800 wheel on my current injectors safely that will satisfy me.

When I did 975 it had 3gal of pump 110 on top of about 12 gal of 93. It was only 13* of timing. I would feel perfectly fine doing it on just 93. Injectors were around 93% IIRC

Keep it simple and stick to pump gas and just drop some race gas in for when you want to make that extra power. I would stay clear of meth but that’s just me.

Agreed. I have nothing against meth and have used it before with great results. However in this case unless you really want to always be running 800+ on the street I would say 93 and moderate 11-14 timing will be plenty safe. Get some 110 in there when going for 1k+ which I would assume won’t be all that often?

Wastegates about done. Hopefully the kit will be wrapped up this week.

This dude looks like he does some really nice work. You should get all that stuff coated so it stays looking nice.

Looks great

bling bling

why worry about detonation, no big deal…haha. my buddy runs leaded 112 on the street in his car, he can cruise for a couple hours before he has to be home to fill up…it wont run on 93 at all, lol.

when i had the small block in the s10 i had to run atleast a mix of 110 and 93 or it would detonate pretty bad from too much compression. this time around with the big block im going straight 93 octane to make it easier.

love the fab work thats being done, looks really nice.

112 leaded is it fuel injected?

no, carburated with a locked distributor. was an ex race motor that we decided to stick in a street car.

i dont know anything about tuning fuel injection still, its all new to me. eventually down the road when i have the coin to boost my big block it will probably end up being fuel injected.

edit. i do have experience with running 112 leaded in a fuel injected 2 stroke engine, and it does work very well with the tune however the spark plugs go bad after a few races.

This is mainly a street car so it must be geared toward 93 octane. I probably put around 6k miles on every summer.

Wow

It’s amazing what some people can get away with on 93 pump. I know there are a thousand factors here, but mine was done on 93 at about ~14psi.

Progress looks great. It has to be an awesome feeling working with someone that actually works on your project and gets shit done, rather than making 100 phone calls and threats to get the builder to even look at your stuff.

This guy is a machine.

Sorry if I missed it, but does he have your car? Or is he fabbing it on a dummy car and just sending you the pipes?

My car is sitting int he garage. He has it on a mock up.
