Twin turbo Trans Am build and LSX swap Mustang hackery

I could point you in a direction of a perfectly capable tig for 500 bucks.

I actually had 2 positive things to say about it and one joke thing to say. (saying something looks expensive is not a negative comment)

Honest question: why are you so sensitive?

Untrue. If he had done something cool and actually built it himself I would have been full of compliments and nice things to say. I am not and have never been impressed by bolt-together cars, trucks, motorcycles, whatever.

Quoted for truth. I also feel that amatuer photography is really cool nowadays. Everyone with a camera feels they are professionals it seems.

Beyond that, this car looks badass and looks like a lot of money is being dropped in the fab work and im not being negative, honest. I agree with Newman that doing it yourself would get more respect, leave you with satifsfaction etc but I also understand that if you’ve done it before, let someone else get the headaches from it haha

Look forward to seeing the finished product.

I will tell you this, minus the price of the turbos, i have less than $3,000 invested in this kit. About half the price of a procharger kit for my car. I couldn’t build it for that. With finishing school, work and some health issues in the family I have had no time to do much of anything car related so far this winter. If i would have done it myself (which was the original plan), it would have probably cost the same if not more and certainly would have not looked this nice. I appreciate the compliments and i apologize for not gaining the “respect” of some of you lol.

Building cars isn’t about gaining everyone’s respect. Keep building man this thing will be badass!

To some people the respect is more important!

Yeah. Bitches. Fast and Furious quote.

Any reason on choosing the 6262? Is that what most people run? Every precision i have ever had failed after like 4,000 miles lol. All properly set-up =/

i chose to go Bulls-eye this time. hopefully i have better luck

You never had your car!!

Can’t wait to get the tuning cap on

HAR HAR

My PT76GTS worked well for me, still like new after about 5k miles this season. I heard about people having problems with PTE units but it seems to be the larger frame ones? Guys on tech have had great luck with 6262’s and 6767’s. We shall see i guess lol.

Absolutely beautiful fab work, and much respect for doing the research and getting the right parts for your power goal

This thing looks like a beast, built, bought or whatever. Still a badass car.

I know there’s is no way you paid for everything under the hood of that car by selling tune ups and selling groceries!

Thanks! Yeah i really can’t wait to take this for the first drive. It doesn’t bother me that i’m finally able to do what I want with no stress and not working on my back in my cold garage all winter. I have literally taken this car apart and put it back together probably 5 times on my back in my 2 car garage including motor, transmission, interior, dash, rear end, suspension etc, not to mention Heads cam swap with piston fly cut, nitrous setup, forged motor, single turbo kit, fuel system, wiring etc. Been there, done that, not to mention friend’s builds that i have had a big part in. I doubt there are any nuts and bolts left on this car that have not been taken off and put back on by me. Even with this build, there are things to modify and change including making an exhaust to the back of the car. I have a turbo kit and a cold side made by someone else and people make comments LOL… welcome to NYspeed! Oh well, it should be fun and I can’t wait to get started once its delivered to me. Thats all that matters, right?

if you honestly have less than 3k invested then you are wayyyy ahead of the game ha…this “kit” has some pretty awesome fab work being done. i am VERY impressed with the fit and finish.

btw, you have balls getting fab work done out of state, by someone i assume you have never met and on a mock up vehicle. props fo dat

Sharp!

JT76 your killing me lol I’m feeling like I’m about to drop a ton of coin on parts because of your thread

PTE Failures are mostly with the large frame stuff where Precision was modifying a Garrett shaft / wheel on some of the more high end x275 legal turbos. Your 62’s should be fine. I think it looks bad ass, and can’t wait to see it out. Hopefully you can get it idling / wot/ cruise so you can drive it this year!

Who cares who built the kit? If you tried to learn yourself your car would be MIA for a couple years. Aint nobody got time for that!

Newman… If you really know of a decent TIG floating around for around $500 shoot me a pm… I’ve been dying to learn.

Just about done, should hopefully be in my garage by next week.

That’s definitely epic. No doubt about that.

This is definitely going to make at least 100hp.
