Like facebook but only status updates? Shit I’ve unfriended people for constantly updating their status, as if anyone cares that they’re eating Doritos or don’t want to go to work. I don’t get it. Someone explain to me what the attraction is.

I joined it to see and I said the same thing. I can see a use if you NEED to follow someone for business needs, follow trends, technology, businesses, etc…
but for a normal person to need it, I don’t get it either. It simply allows you to get closer to things you enjoy or need to know, but no matter how hard I thought I couldn’t think of anything I needed to know that badly to the point where my blackberry needed to tell me instantly. LOL
Yeah I just don’t get it. You choose people to “follow”? Do people give a fuck what other people are doing? It’s so popular that I must be missing something…

it’s the most simple and sleek way to keep up to date on what’s happening with people, businesses, and any other group.
I follow a local bar to know when they get something interesting on tap/cask (sometimes discounts if you mention you saw it on twitter). I follow a couple automotive world celebrities to get a feel for what’s going on in their worlds and the industry. I follow a couple DJs / bands to see where they are and what’s going on. I also obviously follow friends because I want to know when they have checked out a cool new restaurant or if somebody is looking for something to do etc…
It’s everything I liked about facebook without all the extra garbage. I don’t want mafia wars, fish tanks, farms, groups about random crap bothering me.
So in conclusion, it’s what you make of it and how to use it. I love it, if you don’t get it then you’re either using it wrong or you life sucks.
yea, I follow some local businesses, some celebs, friends, and DJs. businesses are actually amazingly responsive on there.
