Do the Talons/Eclipses really have that many tranny problems stock, or just when modded?
same as teh GM 10 bolt. Works fine when stock and not beat on.
Most people that get these cars beat the piss out of them.
not so great tranny + lots of AWD launches and banging gears = broken tranny
but it is far exadgerated. I broke two so far, one at the track on the 2-3 shift (tried to go too fast and snapped a shift fork), and the its replacement, which wasnt in too good of shape to begin with, and it just kinda went. Wasnt doing anything bad at the time, but it had been beat on pretty good and I was driving it when it was fucked up, so its my own stupid fault. :hs:

true true. Any part of the AWD system really. It would have been nice if they would have been built a little stronger, but its a $20K car and Iām sure Mitsubishi had no idea that people would be turning this new little turbo 4cyl they put out into sub 11 sec drag cars. The sport compact scene was pretty much non-existant in 1990.
there are 10 bolts in the tens stock!!!7 5/8 ones!!!
my dads is a 8 1/2 10 bolt & he went 10.65 in a 3800lp blazer!!!
so that throws out the 10 teary!!!
