U2NDyno.com 240sx Build

it really doesnt sound as loud as i though it would have.

Well, it is still a turbo car…they really aren’t that loud. Turbos are a muffler.

You need some vids of highway pulls or something! car looks/sounds amazing

Yeah man, I’ll prob take some more video in the next few days with the car on dry pavement.

Woohoo…ViPEC V44 box ordered. Should be here is a week. I’m a moron.

Building this harness lets me swap back and forth between Autronic and ViPEC in seconds. I plan on doing some back-to-back dyno testing.

very professional and well done

god i love the quality of this build

Cool. I thought about switching from my SM4 to the V88 last year to try something new, but never touched my car. I’m totally happy with my Autronic, but let me know what you think of the ViPEC.

Ray’s a great guy and I know Link has greatly improved their hardware recently so the design on that side should be strong. My concern is with the software. I went over the ViPEC software and it definitely has potential, but needed work. That was a while ago so they might have already improved it a lot.

Mike - you gotta see it now. It is leagues better than SM4 software. At least the tabs have titles not just M0, M1, M2 hahaha.

I love my SM4 too but trying something new.

I ended up downloading the new software last night and poking around. I like how you can set the quick tabs to display the tables you want and the quick tabs for realtime data are nice too.

I like how you can pick which realtime data channels to log via right clicking…lots of little touches.

Selecting an area of the map and incrementing/decrementing that block is good to have.

It’s coming along…

I did notice some things the SM4 has that the ViPEC doesn’t yet, but they’re probably working on them. I trust Ray wants the ViPEC to have all the SM4 features and more, especially because of the way things went down with them.

Keep me posted.

Are you going to be running knock control? If so, what were you going to use as an amplifier? I’m sure they push the LINK units, but the J&S and Phormula KS4 systems seem to work well.

No, not running knock control, don’t really want to put more money into this setup. I plan on running this setup (V44) this up coming summer and will then swap out the motor on this chassis for something different at the end of the season (read: LS1). If nothing remarkable happens in the EFI world by then I’ll run a V88 on it (which has integrated knock control)

Went and set up a buddies RB26DETT S13 drift car yesterday…he is now using the ViPEC replacement board. Works like a charm and even on a basemap the car was running very well on 1000cc injectors.

Another great feature for motor swap guys is the ViPEC has onboard tacho calibration…so no other modules are needed to sync the 6cyl output to a 4cyl dash. It also does a funky little tach sweep when you key-on.

And a ghey little vid to boot…

whatever… im crashing your shit first day out. promise.

That will be a glorious day…

damn a rb26 s13 dorifto machine. where the pics at?!?!?!!?!?
