When i was spraying my engine bay black (car orginal colour is champange pearl, firewall was never sprayed) i removed the wiper motor, from the firewall, figuring i could remove the piece between the firewall and the windshield and work from the top, yeah sure enought it’s solid metal. how the hell do i re-attach my wiper motor?? Rain-X is good but not that good :?
the wiper motor sits on the arm behind that friewall.
it sits on a ball bearing. u just have to jimmy it back in to place.
if u cant find that arm move the wipers blades by hand until the arm surfaces and u can see it, then grab a hold of it and wish for the best. u gotta puch it back on that ball bearing,
the wiper arm is unsteady so it may take a while to get it right,
actually its easiest to not attach the motor till last and use the hole the actuator arm goes through to align the ball and socket.
You’ll have to stuff a skinny arm in the cowl (after wiper arms and plastic is removed) and have another arm on the motor, press the fitting with your bare hands. 10lbs of force should do it. than gently try to get the motor back to where it belongs. there are 4 fittings like this ball/socket. 1 at the motor, 1 at the far end for the drivers wiper and 2 in the middle pivot
