Took the 19 year old(Older than me…) tints off my CRX the other day.
And I thought tinting windows was hard.
Went at it with nothing but soapy water, goo gone, and a razor. Took a few hours but I think it makes the car look alot better now that I have no bubbles/purple tint.
440 at the wheels at 93 and even more on race gas. Car weighs roughly 1900 pounds.
It’s running conservatively for what it could do, but the block’s not sleeved so I’m not trying to push it.
I really could care less if the cage is even necessary, but I don’t trust this car with carrying my body its like a tin can. I’d probably want it even if the car was stock.
tell me you used a heat gun and didn’t do this cold?
Yeah it did it cold it sucked. I didn’t think of using ammonia like Newman suggested or a heat gun till I was already like done. I kinda didn’t even really intend on taking the tints off the begin with I just started scraping away I originally was just de-badging the car. Hah.
The hard part wasn’t taking the actual tint off, it was the excess adhesive residue that was baked onto the glass. Hence the goo gone.
Just went through this too. Heat gun helped but it took too long to heat that area up to a good temp to make it worth it. I found to just bake the car in the sun and do it mid afternoon really helped the most.
Not on that turbo, but if u got better cams, and a larger turbo, you can technically make 45-60 track passes making 650-700wheel on race gas on stock sleeves lol.
