I hate unions and all of their stupid fucking members. They fuel the entitlement society that we live in today.
BTW: Just whoring through

I fucking hate unions… everyday i get to deal with union assholes. People love being secure in their pathetic little fucking lives. “ohhh my union will protect me, Im doing the best job that i can”. Well guess what you piece of fuck? Youre best isnt good enough, go down to your union hall and tell them to pay your fucking salary!
Now granted, for every Pro-Union asshole i have at work, there are probably 30 genuine hard working, good work ethic guys. People who are self-motived, and take pride in doing a good job. If people could just do that, they wouldnt even need a union.
the concept of a union isnt that bad. but in practice they take advantage of it. so… :dunno:
As a point of information, I wanted to let you know that federal government employees don’t get free healthcare. I currently pay $108.50/month for individual HealthAmerica HMO coverage. The total monthly premium is $410.06, of which the gov’t pays $301.56 (thanks Uncle Sam). It doesn’t sound like much, but I would certainly like to get that $108.50 added to my paycheck every month.
FYI - It’s going to cost me even more to insure a family once I get married ($360.86/month) :eek2:
i was just saying that i know it’s widely accepted that SOME government workers get free healthcare… shit man… the job i was offered in the capital would grant me free healthcare for LIFE if i stayed there 3 years. My buddy is the lead of the painters team for the capital building (he keeps it shiny white year round) and he has a ridiculous retirement building and free healthcare for himself for life.
so that’s why i said government workers.
It is all a huge game that we play, no matter if we are working union or non-union. I am currently employed by Verizon and a member of the CWA 13000. “Union dues” come out of my paycheck if I am a member or not, so why not have someone else in my corner? Ultimately the Union is not going to hire me, Verizon is.
I have been in 4 Unions. 4 of which have not done a damned thing for me in terms of securing my job. Every layoff I’ve ever had has been from a Union workplace.
I’ve had my fellow Union brothers and sisters file complaints against me with the Union because I caught a ride to work with the Supervisor. My wife was watching his daughter, he needed workers one day, I was just layed off from my “Union” job, so I went to work. In two years (91-92) I made 11 trips to downtown Pittsburgh to see the Union board because of grieveances. The sorry fucksticks and ass muppets that filed the grievances never bothered to show.
My last non-union job was as a truck driver near the PAT garage in West Mifflin. This place is a text book example of why people need to organize. As long as you did everything the company wanted the would keep you around. As soon as you had a situation where you had to say “no” or “not today” you were on the shit list and got shit on daily. Healthcare was very expensive as I recall. My wife and I both worked there and had to have separate policies to keep the cost down.
I do not agree with everything the Union does and I certainly don’t agree with everything companies do. Being in the Union provides me with a place right in the middle. Not the best job I’ve ever had and certainly not the worst. Fantastic pay and benefits.
