UOA on the Evo (used oil anyalisis)

Quick notes-oil was ran 600 miles (VR1 20W50 CONVENTIONAL). The antifreeze never needs to be serviced so the extra sodium is not coming from there. Titanium traces are probably from the retainers. Non-synthetic FTW! This oil can EASILY go 1000 miles, probably 1500-2000. I’m going to run this change 1000 or so, and get it checked.

I would like to do this with my oil. It would prolly depress me

/PJB

It’s cheap (35 bucks with TBN), and they send you the kit for free. No reason not to!

Always wanted to do this as well, but don’t know what half of it would mean LOL

I’m just as dumb as you (:tongue), but with a little research and help, it all makes since. Ooops-sense.

Any particular reason you use the VR1 or is it just personal preference?

High zinc/phosphorus for under 5 dollars a quart and available locally.

what exactly is the point of this?

To determine if there is any excessive engine wear, how the oil is working, if there is any contaminates in the oil (fuel coolant etc), how long you can run the oil, etc. If you did this on your truck, you’d realize you could go ~6-7K on the oil.

I never even check the oil in my truck between changes. Ill stick to changing at 3k because thats whats always worked for me.

It’s a oil test report jellies . When ya care about your motor ya do this to see how the oil is keeping up - motor holding up - and rotating assembles hold up . Along with any other contaminants in the motor

I always do this with my bike every oil change to monitor the wear, they send me 2 kits at a time now lol.

Cool, I’ll continue to check the oil in all of my vehicle on a regular basis, and run the oil in the truck until the OLM reads zero percent (about 6K miles), 6K in the Corolla and 1000ish in the Evo. Saving money FTW!

I just get lazy and/or forget to check it in the truck. It doesnt burn or leak any oil anyway though.
When I was driving the car Id check it every now and then and its got a low oil light anyway.

I change the oil in the truck every 3k and in the car either every 3k or when something breaks or gets replaced, which is usually less than 3k.

I think it’s been about 20k since I changed the oil in my G6. I should send the oil in for LOLZ.

Paul wtf, every 3K on a stock truck? Yeah, go every 5, that’s what ford recommends anyways.

:rofl

I’m sending them some of my buddies g/f’s urine (after she takes a viagra and birth control). She’s also preg.

I would change it every 1000 miles just to be safe paul.

It says 3k in the owner’s manual if I remember right.
