FUCK YOU.
Whats wrong with avoiding work talking about cooking meat?
Nothing until you go ruining it with this shit.
FUCK YOU.
Excellent.
So I can find a 55ga drum easily. Where do I get steel grates for the rib rack and possibly under the fire in the woodbox?
I’ve got one.
i have an old dryer in the basement you can have
Maybe I missed this but how do you properly clean this thing? In its transition from oil canister -> smoker…
just cook in it a couple times… that shit will burn off
Thats where the alcoholic chemist comes into play
Buffalo steel?
Thats where I buy perforated steel etc…
All this talk about spinning/smoking hot meat is making me…
Here is the other Jeff’s suggestion on how to clean this thing. Keep in mind, he’s some sort of quality control chemist at APP Pharm.
Gasoline followed by engine degreaser.
Flush with water
Scrub with more degreaser / sand.
Flush with water
Soap
Flush with water
Methanol burn
Flush with water
Wipe with rags & simple green, hot fuckin wood fire, done. Got it.
So I need a barrel, a few feet of 4" hvac ductings and flanges, hinges, a handle, and 4 cinder blocks.
what about moving the fire barrel underneath the main tank?
Getting it out:http://www.hammerzone.com/archives/hvac/oil_furnace/tank_removal/from_basement.htm
I also have tow chain in stock. Used it to pull a WRX out of the snow once…
Can’t you just burn it a couple of times? What about GS-38 cleaning…
hot simple green FTW?
I think I’ll be able to muscle it out of the basement. Possibly by myself. Definitely with help.
Yes to GS-38 (praxair’s oxygen cleaning standard). I’m going to go to down with a gallon of simple green and a case of rags, then have a fire after dark so that nobody sees the black smoke.
Did you do that drawing in CAD?
Yep.
It is to scale, those are two standard 8 x 16 cinder blocks on the bottom. Bear in mind that the thing is 5 feet wide. Effing huge.
The bbq should be above the burn barrel, but it’s just easier to make it stable by setting the bbq on blocks and laying the barrel on the ground.
lol
