V8 Z?

Actually, all you have it all wrong. For the Z to be a true sports car it does not need 400+ hp, V8, FI V6, or other wise. They need to return to their roots. 2200 lbs and a QR25 to the rear would do wonders.

ya well that wouldnt ever happen, ppl dont want a stripped down racer.

the majoraty of todays market wont support a stripped down race car…although i think they may bump up the displacement of the z to maybe 4 liter v6 i believe they will either save the V8 for the skyline or have it a TT model of of the 3…3.5…or 4 liter with AWD of course but thats my opinion…I guess we just have to wait and find out

sports car doesnt necessarily mean stripped down race car. I think the mojority of the market it lookind for POWER. the z may be a heavy car, but if its anything like the g35(which it is), it handles well enough for the market. I mysself drive the g35 copue often and have NEVER been put in a situation where the handling isnt sufficient enough for road use. To compete with the big boys it just needs some bigger balls.

all you peepz dreaming of any turbo powerplant in the upcoming nissans just remember…the SR20DET and RB26DETT were both axed because of poor emissions.

You know, I was thinking about that same idea a couple weeks ago, not as a replacement for the Z, but as a nice replacement for the 240sx. Hell, they could even call it the 250sx. They’d have their work cut out for them if they wanted it less than 2500lbs these days though. Look how hard Mazda had to work to keep the NC Miata at that weight. The stupid marketing and sales drones would probably put 18" wheels on it for starters…

anyone who thinks that nissan is gonna put out a car that weighs less then even 3000 lbs is dreaming

The current Sentra is 2700. :gotme:

well i meant a sports car, sentra has a 4 cyl motor, makes for a much lighter car

true, but there were 300ZX TT’s

i dont even want to say anything - it wont happen…the G35 2+2 was a bad comparison unless u expect them to release this 450Z and then a skyline as its 2+2 infiniti lookalike…its not happening…just throw an LS1 in a Z thats more realistic than this happening

Stripped down race car? Trust me if that were the angle I was going for the car would be 500 lbs overweight (@ my suggested 2200). Also I would be guessing that the QR would be outdone by the Robello 1.8 liter (consider 1.6s put out 200 bhp).

But race cars aside, yeah I’d love to see a 250SX, with 15" wheels.

:word: and also dont forget your cars weight should include you in it…if people are gonna whine on the internet about weight of a street car that they prob wont race anyways, go on a diet yourself…americans

i think that some ppl are thinking thats excatly what they will do, only problem is that IF they do it, the 450z will never see american soil unless its imported jdm. Personally i think that this route is their best route and will make them a heavy competing sports car manufacturer, again. only time can tell, until then we can dream and keep our hopes up right?

thats what im talking about

since we are the subject of skylines…350z/g35 and racecars…

looks nothing like the g35

one comment about weight too…my car only weighs 3010 pounds and its fully loaded

fuck the 4.5, stick the MASSIVE 5.6 liter endurance V8 from the Titan and do what BMW did with Their Z8. REDICULUS!

i was chilling with some top level nismo guys at the z convention. they said tt might happen.

not sure whats gonna happen to the z though, seeing as the possiblity of the skyline

your car is slow, and has less ponies :lolham:

They are not gonna start making the Z and lighter anyways…cool options like Navigation and heated leather seats will keep raising the weight…

Your never gonna see the Z come from Nissan as a stripped down race car…because thats not what people want to spend almost 40,000 on…

The people who want a stripped down Z respresent like .0001% of the car buying market…most of which probbley wouldnt buy a new car to race anyways…
