but the point is there are ways to have luxury stuffs and not weigh a ton
thats sad dont you think
Well, why do you think the Camaro And Firebird, stopped getting produced. Lack of sales. The general public was interested in family toting SUV’s, There is a small market for 2 door sports cars, and GM apparently didnt find it was profitable for them to keep the Camaro/Firebird, going. If they ever bring it back, and it looks good, im sure it will bring good sales. But you have to accept the fact of life, there just isnt enough of a percentage of people in america, that want something like this, to make car companies keep producing them. If GM can pull off a remake simliar to what ford did, well, then i will recant my claim.
no its not sad…WTF do u need a stripped down racer for when ur going to be driving 35-55mph
because that was what the car was origianlly intended for. not a drive to and from your 9 to 5 and then park it.
when i say stripped down racecar i mean no power windows/locks/seats…no radio even maybe like the STis when they 1st came here…no leather…sunroofs…no sound protection stuff(iffy)…people today want those things…well most do…sure there are a few cars like that
i want a car that sounds so good i dont want to turn the radio on. one where i dont care that i can hear a little road noise because i enjoy the car so much.
people dont enjoy driving or their cars anymore. they are tools, something to get them from point a to point b… and thats a shame
there is no passion
The GTR wont sell unless it’s making in excess of 500hp, period. It’s comming out as what an 08? And it’s going to be sold as an infiniti, so it has to compete w/ the M6 & CLS? Good luck with 400hp there nissan…
And nissan should offer a Z race-ready-ish car, like the EVO RS…or more to the exteme the GT3. Ford made factory buyable race cars work w/ the new mustang, and there’s clearly a market for the GT3.
The only car I’ve found that does that (for under 70K) is the VW R32…easily the best sounding affordable car on the market. However, it’s damn slow, fat, and a VW…
figures now the import production cars are using V8’s to keep up with the slow peice of shit domestic guys that have been using v8s for over 60 years.
Why can’t they just stick to something like the TT 3L That I think would be much better.
no one is even paying attention to domestic cars (excpet for the vette)…the US makes 2 performance cars that anyone cares about, the GT and the Vette (no one gives a fuck about the viper)
Im sorry but what about the Audi RS4. That is rediculus and is only i beleive 50 k
I NEVER SAID STRIPPED DOWN RACE CAR!!!
My target weight was 2200 lb dry with a QR,
price should be sub $23k with this engine option.
A stripped down 350Z race cars weighs ~1700 lbs dry, or a minimum 1850 lbs with driver and fuel. Far from my goal.
Never driven one…so I can’t really tell you how I think it sounds…
is that car even for sale yet?
ehhh, true, true… nowadays
sad days these are indeed…
I beileve the RS4 is for sale in europe can coming here Spring '06
ok what is nissan charging for a base 350Z right now? about 30k … and one with all the options? int he neighbourhood of what 37k? now how much do you think they’ll charge for one with a 400hp V8 in it? i’m guessing around 43k at least … and that is in the terratory of a very base Vette…
my opinion … it’s not going to happen
Not a big enough market, the GT-R will get all those skyline freaks
The majority of skyline freaks won’t be able to afford the GT-R when it is finally released. I think the 450 will sell just for that reason alone.
i dont think that “skyline fanatics” who ACTUALLY purchase the car are gonna make up for enough of the sales theyre gonna need. its gonna be ppl who want a flashy import with a real set of ballz. i think the the skyline needs to be a turbo 6 and 450z needs to be v8 if they wanna maximize sales on both cars
The GTR cannot compete in the luxo-coupe market w/ 400 hp…
