Very rough idle, dies when throttle opens

The car was running fine. I stopped in at a store, came back ten minutes later, started it, drove two blocks, then it died at a light. I restarted it: idle was very rough, and opening the throttle killed it. I started it again and let it idle for 2 minutes. No warning lights came on, but it died again as soon as I opened the throttle. Tow truck

There was a rattling sound whenever the engine was cold in December. Neil at Speedworks figured it was the timing chain. I didn’t hear the rattling anymore recently, even during that cold snap we just had. Did my chain get too loose? Or maybe the fuel pump failed?

Engine is a stock KA24DE with 206K. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Shit thats weird. Um Im drunk and dont know if its possable but if a cam gear skiped a tooth??? Ive had hondas that have done that but I know the timing chain gets loose as a goose on the ka’s. Im guessing to cheak the timing. Or if a vaccume is messedor maf is messed??? damn

It turned out to be the distributor. Sorry I forgot to post the solution until so late. Must be getting senile . . . :E Anyway, hope this helps anyone with similar problems.
