sound sooo sexy
AWESOME…theres also a guy on maxima.org doing 350z motor in s13…not quite as sick as the v8 but still nice
I’m trying to understand the path those intake runners follow. It looks like its turned 90 degrees the wrong way.
they are designed for optimal low end torque and high rpm hp…as opposed to one or the other thats y it looks funny…i believe that motor is only available in RWD…so its facing the right way…I trust nissan engineers
thats the way it is, the left and right front runners go to the front 2 cylinders, the middle 2 front runners feed cylinders 3 and 4, backside works the same way
its screwy, i know…
in this pic you can just barely see that the midle runners of each bank point towards the front and rear of the engine

yea nissan has been playing with runner design alot lately trying to balence the two…on my motor they are long with no top end power…then they did variable intakes…now i think they are trying to find the perfect blend
No doubt, but when I saw the pic with the intake on, I thought it was transversely mounted.
There is going to be a local one of these in a bit… except boosted
yea does look like a FWD setup
very cool  my lincoln used a similar setup except it used two runners per cylinder. a set of short, smaller runners for low end and a set of larger, longer runners for top end (theyd open thru vacuume @ around 3K rpm).
cool stuff
what kind of power do those nissan v8s put out?
OMG that is pretty f’n sweet!
i am planning on doing the Variable intake setup up…like u said it has 2 sets of runners controlled by a vaccum solenoid and butterflty valves…
in truck form 305 hp 380 ft lbs torque
in car form 325 hp 336 ft lbs torque
very nice  what kind of displacement?
4.5 liter
about 275 cubes
whoops those are the new v8s
that looks likes its from a 90-95ish Q45 which is like 274 hp 294 torque
Very nice
I guess props for staying with nissan powerplant, but why not do an LS1 ?
Because an LS1 is lighter, makes more power, is cheaper to mod and has more support.
oh wait…
